Oh yes. That business about being doomed to repeat history if you don't learn from it keeps going through my head.

For example: Although I think people rightly argue you don't have to have served in the military to conscionably send troops to a place like Iraq, one can't help but notice that the only player who has actually seen military service, Colin Powell, was the most reluctant of all to take this action.

And the war protesters are hearing the identical criticism they heard druing Vietnam. My own rhetoric feels like deja vu. I keep waiting for Jimi and Janis to rise from the grave.

I think the major difference is that we didn't belong in Vietnam, communism was never a threat here. Way too many good white boys lost their lives there for nothing. This military action is in retaliation for the attack on our shores and to ensure that IT NEVER HAPPENS AGAIN!
