Is this a stimulant?

Sort of, in an indirect way. Actually it has somewhat of a depressing effect on the CNS. Don't let that trick you into thinking it has no "stimulant" like effects.

Here's a quick read:http://www.thinkmuscle.com/articles/jalali/forskolin.htm

Read it but it says nothing of what you said. Where did you get that knowledge from? I abused stims for quite some time and therefore I need to lay off anything that is like a stim. Need to know for sure if this herb is a stim.

I'm nitpicking the definition of "stimulant." Drugs like ephedrine stimulate the CNS to release neurotransmitters like norepinephrine, impacting beta-receptors to ultimately increase adenylyl cyclase. In contrast, coleus forskohlii has a direct effect on adenylyl cyclase.

No it is not in the sense that you are thinking of. Like silent method said CF bypasses beta-2 receptors to directly stimulate certain messengers which release fatty acids and upregulate levels of ATP. It is a good alternative in my opinion to use in place of traditional stimulants for fat loss. Bypassing the beta-2 receptors should allow your body to regain it's sensitivity to ephedrine and the like.

I am confused about the depressant effect though, perhaps silent method could elaborate for us. I personally have never noticed any effect up or down from it. I do like to use it for fat loss though.

Using stimulants that don't simulate the beta-2 receptors are where it's at, bro.

That way you can lay off and allow things to up-regulate again and then come back with the clen/ECA etc.

@ Bdog: you're avatar is really starting to grow on me.......you should buy that dog.

I can't provide detail off the top of my head. I do know that very large doses of coleus forskohlii can cause drowsiness. The psychological effect of regular doses are not "depressing" and actually elevate mood in most people.

But if I'm trying to recover from abusing stimulants, should I avoid Coleus? I take it and I don't feel anything like the stims made me feel.
