as to much protein? obviously i know if i was taking in twice my body weight that may be harmful, but what about 1.5 times my weight while doing a three day split. is that to much? the reason i ask is that my body acts as if it is sick lately. to much protein is the only thing i can think of, i have been eating alot of meat such as chicken and beef lately.

1.5 grams per pound of lean body mass and not your overall bodyweight would be fine provided your level of activity or workout is intense. Normally an intake rate of 1 gram per pound of LBM is sufficient for most people.

If you are experiencing unusual symptoms or are just feeling unwell, then it is more likely due to the vitamin and/or mineral content of the foods. In the case of certain meats, high rates of consumption will lead to high levels of iron in your system. This can then lead to symptoms of nausea, dehydration, low blood sugar, drowsiness, gastrointestinal problems, etc.

Just try to balance out your diet as you try to meet your daily caloric needs.

i agree with kain but im curious how much water are you takeing in ?? overloading on protein is posible but not likely if you were it could cause your kidneys to form a kind of wall around them so they begin to stop working and shut down this is very rare but it has happened to my workout partner he went to the hospital and had it taken care of but it was due to tooo much protein but the doc said it could have been avoided if he would have been drinking more water with all the extra protein, ( he had similar simptoms
