Is it better to be hard headed or soft hearted?

I'm strong, I can recover from whatever pain may come from it.

I've been hard headed and pushed away alot of people. Eventually, the act gets REALLY old and you miss out on so much.

Lately, I've seen too many of my friends do the whole "da bitch broke my heart and I'm swearing off chicks". Sad scene. You'll never get hurt; but you'll never experience the highs and lows of life.

Or maybe I misread them and they're turning gay.
