is clen really anabolic?

Japanese machine

New member
it is primarily used for reducing bf, but ive encountered some who use it while on a gaining phase; i also read that it is anabolic, however the effect dont last more than 2-3 weeks. hence the cycling schedule?

im asking cause im going to run clen, pirmarily to maintain gains from fina/winny. start at .5cc up tp 1.5cc. (thermo)

a lot of people claim that it is, and use it post cycle to help keep thier gains and some report great results from it, I havent really noticed the mild anabolic effect that it is said to have.

Clenbuterol is a very interesting and remarkable compound. It is not a steroid hormone but a beta-2-symphatomimetic. Clenbuterol, above all, has a strong anticatabolic effect, which means it decreases the rate at which protein is reduced in the muscle cell, consequently causing an enlargement of muscle cells. For this reason, numerous athletes use Clenbuterol after steroid treatment to balance the resulting catabolic phase and thus obtain maximum strength and muscle mass. A fur-ther aspect of Clenbuterol is its distinct fat-burning effect. Clenbuterol burns fat without dieting because it increases the body temperature slightly, forcing the body to burn fat for this process. Due to the higher body temperature Clenbuterol magnifies the effect of anabolic/androgenic steroids taken simulta-neously, since the protein processing is increased.

Athletes usually take 5-7 tablets, 100-140 mcg per day For women 80-100 mcg//day are usually suffi-cient, It is important that the athlete begin by taking only one tablet on the first day and then increasing the dosage by one tablet each of the following days until the desired maximum dosage is reached. The compound is usually taken over a period of 8-10 weeks. Since Clenbuterol is not a hormone compound it has no side effects typical of anabolic steroids. For this reason it is also liked by women. Possible side effects of Clenbuterol include restlessness, palpitations, tremor (involuntary trembling of fingers), headache, increased per-spiration, insomnia, possible muscle spasms, increased blood pres-sure, and nausea. Note that these side effects are of a temporary nature and usually subside after 8-10 days, despite continuation of the product

Clenbuterol will mimic adrenaline.

It is an altered adrenaline molecule that specifically binds to beta-2 receptors.
This has the effect of raising the synthesis of
cyclic AMP in the cells in the body (leads to sympatic system activation), aswell as dilating the the airways to your lungs.
The poultry industry found that clenbuterol was anabolic in chickens, and so they used it to produce more meat. Unfortunately a lot of people think that this anabolic property of clen also applies to humans, it doesn`t....(I think it has something to do with us humans not having a lot of brown fat tissue)

However I really think that clenbuterol is a great drug when it comes to loose fat and MAINTAIN muscle mass. When you use clenbuterol (or ephedrine) your body will burn fat at the same time as it tends to hold on to muscle tissue...

Also since your sympaticus system is activated you will experience a greater muscle contact and thus your workouts will be more intense. This can be mildly anabolic of course, but not very much so....

Hope this helps...

From what I understand, clen isn't significantly anabolic in humans, but it is anti-catabolic. It is usefull in reducing post cycle excess cortisol. M'kay.

Heres the study.

Elevated IGF-II mRNA and phosphorylation of 4E-BP1 and p70(S6k) in muscle showing clenbuterol-induced anabolism.

Muscle wasting affects large numbers of people, but few therapeutic approaches exist to treat and/or reverse this condition. The beta(2)-adrenoceptor agonist clenbuterol produces a muscle-specific protein anabolism in both normal and catabolic muscle and has been used to limit muscle wasting in humans. Because clenbuterol appears to interact with or mimic innervation, its effect on the expression of the neurotrophic agents insulin-like growth factor (IGF)-II and H19 and their putative pathways was examined in normal rat plantaris muscle. The results showed that the well-documented early effects of clenbuterol on protein metabolism were preceded by elevated levels of IGF-II and H19 transcripts together with increased phosphorylation of eukaryotic initiation factor (eIF)4E binding protein-1 (4E-BP1) and p70(S6k). By 3 days, transcript levels for IGF-II and H19 and 4E-BP1 and p70(S6k) phosphorylation had returned to control values. These novel findings indicate that clenbuterol-induced muscle anabolism is potentially mediated, at least in part, by an IGF-II-induced activation of 4E-BP1 and p70(S6k).

Nimrod, that study is with rats. I've read that clen is anabolic in some animals with the right receptors, but not humans. Do you know of any studies which demonstrate anabolic effects in humans?
