irritation or early abcess??

test-e injection (quad) was 5 days ago and for the last few days i noticed it being more sore than normal. i was massaging it today and noticed a knot and a little swelling. it is not mushy, red or hot. it's hard and feels like a contusion...like the muscle has been frogged.

i swabbed the vial and site several times and used a new pin.

i'm gonna give it another day or so and see the doc if it doesn't improve. i'm just wondering if anyone has experienced a similar irritation.

I've had that happen a few times in quads. In my case, never been an abscess. Usually a deep hematoma, which can take a few days or even a few weeks to clear up. I'm not a doctor, and I'm not advising you one way or the other, but if I get one of those, I don't do anything about it unless I get a fever, or gets much worse.

Depending on where exactly in the quad you injected, it might be much more likely to cause the deep muscle hematoma. I prefer glutes for that reason. The quads can be tricky on some people.

thanks for the reply. it is definitely less sore today but there is swelling that has migrated down to just above my knee. the pain has also migrated a bit but that is pretty normal. the area is still not red or warm to the touch...and no fever what-so-ever.

hopefully that means i'm gonna live. thanks again!!
