Interview advice/travel agents

Hi, is anybody here a travel agent or has any experience of working in a travel agency.

I'm thinking of applying to work as a TA, however, I'm slighly unsure as to the role of a TA.

I'm under the impression that they have to sell much more than the holiday itself.

I've got an interview soon and am expected to take part in a role play on the telephone, so I'd like to know what i'm doing

Tough job..Many travel agencies have closed down lately...people take the short cut and go direct to the source or website instead going thru the middle man, i.e., travel agent.

You need to build up quite a clientele in order to survive..
