i know this has been ask before, but i need a new internet security. i am done with nortons, and i need a new free one that works well. i got the avg virus protection the last time this was aked, but now i need some recomendations. thx!

I'll just tell you to get AVG again.

Also, zonealarm and microsoft antispyware.

zonealarm seems to be good. Get a HW router/firewall and lock that shit up. Open only the ports you need. Nothing can beat that.

As for SW, look for a solid antivirus

Norton has a pretty comprehensive list of what ports are commonly used for what. It may take me a second to dig the list up.
