Insulin Users Do you test your sugar levels

Bro's I just landed a job last week as a warehouse manager for a diabetic center and I am doing tons of reserch on insulin usage. My quetion is do you bro's use a monitor to check your sugar levels.
And do you only shoot it after a workout or before every meal and after you work out ???
I've checked out a few other post but no body talks about using a monitor so I am wondering how they are gauging the insulin level.
If the only way you are telling is by waiting to see if you break down with the sweats I would say that is some risky shit.
I am documenting each injection how many carbs I take in after the shot and test 1 - 2 hours after to see where my levels are???
This is the only way I can see a safe way to increase your dosage ???
Any thoughts ????

insuline should be started of with a dose no higher then 10ius per day, then you can gradually increase the dose in 2-5iu increments. make sure to eat 10g carbs for every iu of slin injected. take it 2 times per day, once in the morning once after workout, make sure you know how long slin stays in your body, dont want to go to sleep and go hypo.

Thanks serge.
Acually I have been doing that but I still monitor my blood sugar level just to see how close I come to low sugar levels.
The 10/g of carb per 1 IU I understand.
So is there no target blood sugar level you should worry about.
What I'm saying is, if you take in 100/g of carbs and shoot 10 iu by formula you are ok. However if you did that and then tested say 1 hour after and found that your levels were still up in the 100 range (which is a very safe level) then you could have acually increased the insulin level with the same amount of carbs so the blood sugar level would be more like 70 or 80 (which is still in the safe zone) ??? This way you would be taking in as much of the carbs as posible ???
Hope I am making since bro's. I just want to nail this to a science so please be patient with the questions ?!??!?!

Does anyone no of a good link on insulin as far as how bbs use it effectively ?? I keep reading the search engine but I have to say I'm not very trusting of allot of the info. There are bros on there saying things I know to be false since I work so closly to Diabetics ?!?!?!

Anyway any thoughts ???

I can't understand no body knows the answer to this post ????
Surely everyone that is using it is not just using it blindly and hoping they don't go into insulin shock !!!!!!

Come on MODS were you at ????

Gotta bump it for one more try to get some thoughts on this then I'll give up ?!?!?!?

checking levels

i use an atlast glucose meter to check mine dont do it all the time but i check , i shoot morning and after workout, when i use.

i try to take in 5gm carbs / iu of slin MINIMUM, then little or no fat for 2 hours and protien and alot of it when it is spiking, i also add some slow carbs like rice or oats, something to that nature
peace

That's basically what I'm doing as well. I am just wondering if I should kep increasing the dose until the levels drop as low as posable but still in the safe zone ???

Thanks for the advice bro's.....

You can use insulin when you like but must take into account not to use it for extended periods of time (say 6weeks +) and to take a long break off before using again. If you use it for longer periods of time you will find yourself going hypo at certain times when you come off the slin.

I wouldnt recommend starting 10ius / day more around 3 and then work your way up. For a first time user you will get excellent results of 10ius a day for as little as 4 weeks. You will notice the changes daily and your weight will sky rocket. Insulin + t3 is great as a bridge. This way you can do a cycle then come off 2 weeks later on insulin + t3 and then 6 weeks later back on cycle. This will ensure all or most gains made in cycle will be kept plus increases in weight and size.

Use it post workout and once you start to get the feel for it you can introduce it into other times of the day. Upon wakening is another good time. The truth is insulin is only anabolic for the time frame in which it is active. So say humalog it will only keep you anabolic for the 2 hrs you are using it. The more you use it the longer you are in a state of anabolism. Never overlap it and the downside of greater use is the risk of greater sides setting in.

Peace

i think i would not keep adding in more slin as to try and get to the optimum blood sugar levels because that one more iu could put into hypo faster and longer as you have more slin in your system, just because the meter shows u to have higher levels does not mean the slin is not shutling in more nutients, this i know you know, but for me 12-13 ius is my max but i still have room to go on the meter, i tried 14-15 and was sweating and slamming cokes and cookies and simple sugars which really defeats the purpose we are using it for, listen to your body on this matter and not the meter, those were made for diabetics not BB'ers.
peace.

because everyone process and metabolizes nutrients differently if you tend to be a metabolism that is fast and food goes through you quickly would it be safer to eat higher doses of simple carbs immediately following the first dose then eating high carb foods like oatmeal , whole grain bread etc one hour later with a protein thats low in fat or no fat.

Excellent comments bro's...that is what I was looking for !!!!
Once I have completed my cycle with it and done some more reserch I am thinking of putting together a post for new inslin users to clear up some of the confusion !!!!!
In my attempt to look in the search engine I found lots of false statements that I know not to be true..
Anyway thanks agian for all the advice !!!!!!!
