I would go with 25g, 28g MAX... Although I've never tried 28g I've heard of people using them... I use 22g for glute inject, 25 bi,tri and delt injects....

insulin pins are 29-31 g I think.... I think you might have a hard time getting gear through a 28 but it would go, cause I've seen people post that they use 28g for test injections and stufff... It MUST be a slow injection though...

Yes, it will go through them, but it is a pain in the ass (not literally like an 18 guage would, but).
You will have to draw your liquid with a larger guage such as an 18 guage and then switch needles.
But,it is very difficult and time consuming to push the liquid back through the needle and sometimes if you are using a 1 cc syringe, the plunger will bend or even the needle trying to push. Also if you have alot of fat in the area, a slin needle will not get deep enough into the muscle.
I would say the best bet would be to use a 25 guage.
