Insulin and Anabolics

I am preparing to start my fourth cycle in a few weeks, a cycle of Anadrol-50, Test., and Deca. Now I have always been pretty conservative with past cycles, but as you can see, this is a rather powerful cycle.

In the past, I have avoided insulin use due to the dangers and risks inherent in its use. Still I have read and heard much information that seems to all indicate that insulin does indeed work synergistically with anabolic steroids in building lean muscle mass, increasing the effectiveness of the anabolics, and so I would like to (carefully) incorporate this into my next cycle.

I am planning on using Humulin-R, a shorter=duration (6-8 hours) insulin to reduce the risks. I'll also get one of those blood sugar measuring devices. My questions are in regards to using the insulin.

I've read that one should use 1IU per 15-20# of body weight DAILY. At 210#, I would work up to about 10IU after beguinning slowly at a low dosage and watching for any troubles. From what I've read, it is best to administer insulin right after a workout or towards the end of a workout. Then to ingest a high-carb drink (100 grams of carbs or more) like apple juice or a carb-drink from the gym, perhaps adding creatine to it, as the insulin supposedly helps with the creatine uptake too. After an hour, I would plan on eating a good high-prtoein meal. DOES THIS ALL SOUND CORRECT?

Also, I've read (and heard) different things about injecting the insulin. Some say to go subcutaneously, pulling a flap of skin on the arm and injecting there. Others say intramuscular is ok too, as in a thigh muscle. Are these both acceptable?

Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks,

I did not read you whole post.

But, the last paragraph you as if you can shoot IM. HELL NO. It is the be injected in the fat. It does not matter if it is in the abs or leg. But it must be sub Q

I have used insulin a lot, and believe I can be of some help. Humulin R is only 4-5 hour insulin, it takes effect at about half an hour, although very mild, and peaks around 2 hours. It is out of your system by 4-5 hours. (This information is for subcutaneous, however, intramuscular is faster) I would stick with subc. if you have never used it. It is easier to predict that way.
Good idea working up, I started at 2IU after workout, and increased by 1 IU every day. I have been up to 10IU upon waking, and 10IU postworkout (actually, I take mine about 20 mins. before end of workout), and it will help with creatine uptake. I don't know if you will want to use a lot of creatine, however, as you will retain water from the abombs. Most suggest 10 grams of simple carbs per IU of slin injected, although I get by on a lot less. I would do it when you start, just to be safe. Just keep some glucose tabs around in case you get hypoglycemic (dizziness, tiredness, extreme thirst, hot & sweaty). Pop a couple if necessary. Just don't go to sleep in those 5 hours, because you need to know if your body needs more carbs.

One more thing: avoid fat like the plague when your slin is active. Insulin is a "shuttle". It doesn't care what it shuttles, whether it is carbs into glycogen, protein into muscle, or fat into storage. Just stick to fat free foods for the 5 hours, and you should put on some decent lean muscle mass.

Wow Fantom, Thanks for all of the information. That is very helpful. I'm anxious to start, but will give it a few weeks, starting in February.
