the faster the connection the better the picture it says, I wondered about that too, if itd be good on wifi or gprs internet connections

It'd be awesome to use when I go visit relatives that don't have DTV, mostly my parents, but they only have a dial up connection.

Im not quite sure about the dial up picture(edit, needs broadband). There were people on the discussion forum there that have their regular cable tv and local channels slinged to them while in the UK and South America. Even people hooking up and sharing their 'sling' tv shows to each other.

Erzulie, you can get direcway satellite broadband, just need a view of the southern sky so start tunneling up towards the surface

I checked into directTV, but for the cost of getting started and then them telling me any kind of bad weather would shut me down I was uncertain. I can handle the upfront cost and the montly cost but taking a chance at being down would suck if im trying to get some work done for my houseplans.

5 miles away from me they have dsl, yet they can't offer it to me yet. Sucks. I've been trying for three years now with no luck. I'm still a light weight using dial up

Get this.. I live in LA but our cable company won't service our area so I have this backwoods freaking cable co out of Mississippi They were supposed to have internet access last year but nada. I call them every month.

I think direcway uses a hughes multi satellite dish which is more reliable than say a directtv dish and its a two way modem where I think directtv you have to have a phoneline to transmit. Not for sure on that, but I thought dial up was like 12 dollars a month so not too spendy to have both.
Course, its all unnecessary costs but it can be done
