Inner Pec... Genetics?

I'm sure this has been posted before, but do you think genetics dictate chest shape or no? and if not, what exercises work them best in a mass routine?
 
absolutely 100% genetic. Inner pec growth cannot occur without an increase in total pectoral size, as the muscle is attached laterally

So what you are saying that it is genetic, yet increasing the pec size through lifting can cause them to join in the middle?

you are correct but what i am saying is that some people have a big gap in between there chest and there isn't much they can do.
 
I guess I just lose then... but dammit... I'm going to have the slickest looking 'Gap' out there... :D

No man, they aren't going to move thier attachment location, thats ridiculous. You can make them grow, make your chest bigger!

Some people do not believe you can favor a certain part of the muscle, I don't agree with that and I think you can. Close grip benches, limited range pec dec etc, nice finisher. Close grip bench hits my triceps (watch your joints too) too much though, but I do them after chest anyway.
 
Close grip bench, close grip incline, incline flys........squeezin' the fuck out dem titties up top should help some what fight those shitty genes.
