hey bros this may be posted in the wrong area but i have a question i need help with, i was lifting yesterday and long story short my chest popped when benching and i knew i tore my pec, its all blue and purple today and dont have any health insurance, what steps should i take at this point, is there any chance i dont need surgury to correct it? if not how can i do this so i dont go bankrupt? any help would be great
thanks

not in a lot of pain at all but dark purple bruse going down my bicept and noticable detachment of the pec from the front of my delt, i dont know what to think but i will for sure see a doc but if i had to guess by looking at it and feeling it i wont ned surgury but im way too optamistic about shit like this

Go to the ER bro..... Let the hospital eat the cost of treating you.... They can't turn you away, it's the new US health insurance.... Suprised you never heard of it....

prizz, The hospital is not going to "eat the cost". Of course they have to treat you, then they have to BILL you. It will be expensize and then intrest will build up if not paid. Trust me I have been working in ER Registration and billing for 5 years.

Triplesixm, sounds like you really hurt yourself. Especially if you can actually see the deformation. ER can not do anything for a torn muscle, only a broken bone. For a torn muscle, tendon, ligament they will give you a referral to go to an orthopediest. So skip the ER and call on Orthopediest

good luck

a friend of mine tore his pec. he was benching and it just let loose. he did nothing for it. he waited to go see a dr. about a week or two which was a big mistake because at that point the dr could not do any thing for him. if he would have just went to the dr, he would had surgery to have it reattached. he now has a indenttion on his pec for life. so if i were you i would not wait and just go see a dr now matter how much it might cost. think whats worse.

Yeah, well I've been working in hospitals for 15yrs now, and I know how it works.... If he's hurt enough, and needs immediate medical attention, they WILL treat him.... Torn Pec can have alot of complications that he needs to worry about.... If you live in a County that has a hospital, and you don't make alot of money, I would go and get it checked out at least.... They might bill you later, but you can pay them like 5 bucks per week if need be.... Torn pec is no joke man, any injury to the Thorax (chest area) should be looked at immediately for bleeding, or other complications.... Not having money for a doc doesnt mean you can't get checked out.....

And for the record, Hospitals EAT alot of costs throughout the year.... They get stiffed all the time on bills by people that Can't pay them.... If you do billing, you should know that Swolk.... Wasn't trying to tell him it would be free, just that he doesn't have to pay UP FRONT to get medical attention..... Which I would say HE NEEDS.....

Bro... 4 years ago I was benching and heard a pop. I was in a lot of pain. Found out I completely ripped my pectoral tendon from my bone. The next day I had a bruise down to my elbow... bicep was totally black and blue. You should def. get it checked out bro... be on the safe side.

I know if a pectoral tendon rips off the bone, you need to have surgery within 2 weeks or else the tendon will start healing on your muscle.. where it retracted to.

Go see a doc.

dude if u are for real,i hope you go see a doc.... keep us posted and dont ignore a serious injury.....as power had said above, the human body will heal wrong if not treated by a surgen
