Injection problems

While I was prepping my injection today, I havepunctured my finger with the needle when I was taking off the capright before the injection. I have replaced the needle with anotherone, and did the injection, but if I did not have this needle, wouldit be ok to inject the needle with my own blood? I mean, perhapsthere could be some contamination, or something..

Yes at the end of the day it's yours if this happens again wipe the needle with an alcohol swipe and leave for a bit before injecting. But it's good practice to change needles

Since you did not sanitize your hands prior to the injection, there could possibly be some contamination from touch the needle tip to your hand so I WOULD NOT use that needle to do your injection.

It's always better to be safe then sorry. You always want to keep things 100% sanitary when doing injections. Otherwise you could develop a serious infection.

If your finger wasn't dirty, I would not be worried - it is your own blood, and when you do aspiration, you also get your blood out first, and then back again. So this is not a problem - the only thing is the sterility - if everything is clean, there is nothing to worry about.
