Injection issue today

Such a newb mistake, was wondering if anyone here has done the same.

Was in a rush (first mistake), I prepped left glute with alcohol after getting my pin ready (HG Test E) plugged myself and when I pulled the plunger up to see if any blood came into it I felt an odd feeling, but no blood, figured maybe the angle I was standing (Second mIstake).

I started to push the plunger and it felt as if was taking forever, as I'm applying pressure to get the oil in, it looked like only 1/4 of a ml went in, so I applied more pressure until about 1/2 ml was in. (third mistake)

Still confused as to why its taking so long, I decided to pull the pin out, re-swab and pin in another area in the same quadrant. Now I'm sitting here feeling pressure/ soreness behind the muscle ...

I'm thinking I might of pinned to high or just caught the edge of the muscle...

Mistakes,

1) was in a rush

2) although no blood came into the plunger, the strange feeling should have been enough to tell me to re-pin.

3) after having issues not getting the oil to dispence properly I should have taken it out sooner and made sure everything was gtg

4) lesson learned..lol

--- Any one else had issue like this (I just hope the oil is not wasted )

How often do you pin glutes? If there's a good bit of scar tissue it can feel strange, and can be much harder to push the oil in. It's a very dry feeling when you pull the needle out. How high up did you go?

That could very well be... I went probably close to the line (thumb on hip bone - index finger extended to middle of cheek)... plus I think while being in a rush I might have stuck myself at a slight upright angle as well...

high and outside thats what i do. its kinda akward pinning your own glutes. hit them quads man.If your sitting down I go about halfway up the quad and pin outside the center line.you have more control and can actually see everything.

you might have hit the muscle but the angle could be off and the oil might have swollen the muscle a bit and is putting pressure on the sciatic nerve.. ive done that before.. was sore as hell for about 3 days

**edit**... on second thought, you would have had to pin too far inside to do that...

sounds like you had an air bubble and when you pushed on the plunger it didn't allow oil to go through. always make sure you move the plunger up and down to get air bubbles out and make sure you push some oil through before injecting to make sure ..

your 2nd mistake was going back in the same muscle. if you fail on a muscle then use another muscle .. if you ever go in and hit something hard then that could be scar tissue anyway so you need to lay off

All true... I made sure there was no air bubbles at all...in fact I was looking at the plunger a little while ago, and looks like there was an issue with the rubber inside.. so instead of having an even glide one side of the rubber was kind of curled a bit creating friction against the interior of tube. But that aside, def had a few signs telling me to change it up - but being in a rush, I looked passed it. Lesson learned..lol

even if you don't see an air bubble doesn't mean there isn't air between the needle and the oil. hope you get what i'm saying.

so always push some oil through, ya ya ya ya i know you will waste some doing that everytime but so what. atleast you will pop that bubble

Yeah I always do that, not only to make sure there are no air bubbles - but even by doing that it helps lube the pin nicely :-)
