Holy christ, just cut my entire toenail out with a steak knife, got blood everywhere! Thing had been bothering me forever, I hate these things, no idea why I get them.

The one time I had a doctor do it he did it very cleanly and cotorized the skin after...that was when I was like 12.

You need to cut a "V" notch in the middle of your toenail.(Use toenail clippers) It will allow the nail to grow inwards NOT outwards into your skin!

Trust me..My old man has done the ole bathroom surgery more than once due to ingrown toenails. He'a not had a problem since his doc told him of the "V' notch trick.

Also....Try putting some raw egg whites on the infected toe area. I will draw out the infection. No kidding..It's an old wife's tale but it seems to work.

You may want to also take a look at your shoes. Be sure they are not too tight on your toe area. Ladies can have mega troubles if they wear pointy- toed heels that do not fit feet properly!

Salmoella is a tough little sucker........it can survive your gut so it would have a party if it got into your blood stream.

I am not knocking old wives tales because many turn out to have a scientifically verifiable explanation........I just dont like the sound of feeding bugs when you are trying to kill them and as you pointed out introducing more bugs.
