Infections and abcess's

I think this should be a topic that a lot of people need to be more aware of, including my self, im not too familiar with all of it, as in, how long does an infection have to left un treated, as in with antibiotics before it will turn into an abcess? from what I understand Erythromycin and Tetracycline are 2 of the best antibiotics for internal bacterial infections. I ordered some Erythromycin today 2-3 day priority so hopefully recieve it asap but is ther anything that can be done in the meantime to help slow or ease the pain, or slow the progress of the infection, if it is indeed an infection? ice? heat? thanks!

Due to the large amount of blood which is always in the head/mouth/neck region, it is pretty tough to fight off an infection without some pharmaceuticals. However, the best things you can do are: If you experience swelling, use an ice compress on the OUTSIDE of the mouth. This will reduce the amount of swelling and as a result less blood will flow to this area and it will not be as painful. Heat would probably not be beneficial at all because it would increase the amount of blood flowing to the area. Also, you can continue to drink a lot of fluids, mainly water to keep things flowing within the body. Preferably room temperature liquids as extremely COLD liquids may cause more pain to the area) Funny how the mouth works, use cold for swelling outside, but don't even think about putting cold INSIDE!
Dental pain sucks! I wish you the best!

Erythromycin and Tetracycline? i've never heard of these being used for skin or tissue type infection

i am not sure sure a tissue infection is considered an internal bacteria

but its your ass, good luck
