Hey Ladies,

I'm seriously considering having my boobs done (increase!!!!)

Can anyone recommend extremely compentent plastic surgeons in the New York Area (long island, NYC, Albany).

If you've had yours done....do you suggest underneath the muscle? Has anyone had the procedure done where thety go through the belly button

I could really use some information from women who've already had the procedure and have results (good/bad)...what should I look out for? How long is the heal time? Does anyone have before/after pics of the boob augmentations that they can email to me if they feel uncomfortable posting them on the board.

I'd really appreciate your feedback!!!!

Thanks Ladies :D

Mine are on top of the muscle, and I have put considerable mass on my chest, and I still like them and still like to play with them. :)

i luv mine...

they are on top of muscle...done that way cause i had plenty of breast tissue it was just all in bottom half of my breasts...they were "ski slopes"! yuck! heal time for me...over the weekend...had it done on a fri...and was back at work on mon....

my surgeon was in Birmingham...Dr. Michael Self...but does such awesome work..i have zero scars or internal scar tissue...my OB/Gyn said one of best jobs he'd seen...or maybe he just likes my boobs! lol!

Get it done and stay over nite....with antibiotics in IV...much less chance of infection or complications...i know those who had botched jobs...u get what u pay for!!!

I had them put under since I had very little breast tissue to begin with. It looks more natural that way. But it's been about 13 years now and lifting DEFINITELY bothers me. I always had to be careful working chest becase I feel like each rep squashes them. Now I rarely work them at all. So if you go under, I highly recommend babying them and not lifting so much for chest!

hey debu

I'm getting mine under the muscle as well and I was always told to stop working chest or only work it with body weight i.e, push ups and dips; however a few of the ladies on here say that they still lift like always and there's are under the muscle as well. Now I'm confused..........

i have a couple good freinds that had theirs done with an EXCELLENT doc in manhattan... actually...one of them had a few things done and is very happy with her results!! i will PM u if ur interested. is manhattan an option for u?

re: Lifting post op -

If you go "under", yes it will be tight because the implant has been stuck under a muscle. It will also feel tight if you don't continue to work it. Eventually it loosens up. But remember that there is still something under that muscle so sometimes you might feel a strange feeling contraction from the muscle, but this isn't a big deal -- just feels kinda weird. If you have ANY questions about things like this, ask your doc. If he/she can't answer these questions, find another doc. These people should know. And no question is too dumb to ask. Its non-essential, evasive surgery - you need to be clear on what you are doing. Or else don't do it.

My doc said there is no reason why even the cut in the muscle should have any effect on your ability to build those muscles. BTW, as far as how durable they are, I heard about one lady who was in car accident where she probably wasn't wearing a seat belt and got pushed into her steering wheel -- lots of her body took a beating, but "the girls" survived.

The time you need to be the most careful with them is immediately post-op - for ex. the doc may say don't raise your arms above shoulder height for 2 weeks, etc. - this is to let the implants "settle in" and to avoid developing scar tissue. Again, this points to asking the doc ANY question you have, even if you have to call up in the middle of the day with a silly question. They and their staff should be knowledgeable enough to answer everything.

I had them put over the muscle and now I am stronger than ever on chest exercise, which I thought would be the opposite. Love the shape and fullness, however, you can get rippling when done on top if you are really lean.
