It is Sharbat Gula........she is a Afghan that lost a large portion of her family when the Russians waded into Afghanistan. Oh and she also had to trek several hundred miles with her grandmother to get to the relative safety of a refugee camp. You might know the pic from National Geographic.
Why use it? Not sure.........I guess because I think people need to stop and think about their actions every now and then because you might seriously be fucking with somebody elses life without realising.
