i work at a store in sweden (near the norwegian border), where we sell alot of proteins, carbs, fat burners, clothes..and shit like that. so i get gainers/proteins and other supplements quite cheap.

i was wondering...as a little experiment..to trying to grow on only using a gainer + vitamins/minerals.

my favorite gainer is Joe Weiders mega mass 4000...luv it. has about 800kcals/40g proteins per shake.

so i was thinking about drinking my gainer - 6 times a day. which would equal 4800 kcal and 240g of protein.

is this a bad idea? just wondering... cause I've been reading about a well-known low-carb-diet (dont remember what they called it) with only drinking proteins shakes XX times a day + vitamins/minerals..thought this would work too.

any ideas are welcome

Yeah bad idea

Why not eat 3-4 solid Highly Nutrient dense meals per day and then use your "Gainer" 3 -4 times per day on top of that.

Your results will be way better.

I have a problem with eating when I bulk also. For the first 2 weeks it all goes well then I begin to get sick of the food that I am eating but I have no problem consuming 8 Protein shakes, 6 small ones and 2 big ones daily and make real good gains in strength and size. Sometimes I am able to stick to a clean meal plan for 8-12 weeks and sometimes the 4-6 solid meals daily get played out. On my next bulking cycle I am going to give it a real good shot at consuming 6-8 solid meals daily again for the duration of my cycle.

I would recommend you to have smaller meals and take gainer as well. Don't expect to live on Gainer as its a supplement not a substitute.

why not?
im sure everyone has heard of the anpb diet, so why not the shake diet?
as long as your getting the nutrients you need thats it.
its not a matter of where these nutrients come from.
at least for a limited amount of time.
as long as you take all the necassary vitamins/minerals whats the prob?

Drinking the 8 shakes daily works real good for me. I get 400g Protein 700g Carbs 150g Fat and 5000 Cals and most of my Amino acids. A guy told me that the reason it is good to eat solid foods such as steaks chicken eggs and fish is because they contain all of the amino acids that your muscles needs to grow.

You may get all you nutrients from drinking the shakes...assuming you take things like fishoil too for you healthy fats...but I don't think that not eating any solid foods on a day is going to be good for your bowels (intestines). Those need solid food to function properly.

not to mention that eating Whole foods keep your Metablosim stoked bcause your body actually burns calories breaking down whole food.

another thing to consider is the fact that the shakes will make all those nutrients available so fast, and it is better to have slow release like in real food. It take body much longer to break down foods, which provides a nice steady release of nutrients. Extra calories your body doesnt use will then be stored as bodyfat. If you use those shakes as your only source, there will be times in the day when your body may be short.
