IM & Firewalls/Proxies...HELP!

I'm clueless on this....I have internet access at work and I also was able to use Yahoo IM until today. Before everyone had a IP address to get through the firewall to the net..now they have a proxy server (1 address) to get through the firewall, but now I can'y use my IM.....Any ideas on how to bypass this?

ask your firewall guy if you are configured to allow it. you might not be.

configure your IM to to use port 1080...

(until they wise up and block that port)

oh yeah, you also have to tell the im program the net address of the proxy server, which you can pull out of your I.E settings...

I did that....and it just keeps trying to login, but won't.....now I can't cyber!!!!!

Okay, here's what I did: Yahoo's got 4 options for network connection. I tried each one til I figured out which one would work consistently through the firewall.

I must be screwed then...cause I tried that too with no luck...our sys. admin. is suppose to work on it, but who knows.
