out of town camp.

It's the first time she's been away from us for more than a Night.

I know we won't sleep well tonight, or probably for the whole week..

We all know that this is part of being a parent, but I don't have to like it.

Arrrrggghhh... I'm about to go through this. I've had an exchange student from Germany all year. She's been a total treasure. Her mom is coming from Germany on Friday to stay with us for two weeks - then they are both going back to Germany.




The house is going to be very empty.

Y Lifter...I know how you feel. I haven't been able to let mine go away for more than 2 nights yet...and that was with girl scouts at a camp only 45 minutes from home. I've known the leader for 7 yrs. and I trust her, but damn...it's hard letting go.

Chin up though...she'll be home before you know it and raising all kinds of hell again.

Mrs Y and I both are gonna draw straws to see who has to stay and who gets to move out when she starts getting her "Monthly Visitor"...

The Camp is located about 2 hours away.
She is going with a friend from Church that went last year, so she'll be able to show her the ropes.
They have a web site with streaming video and pictures every day.

I think the worst part was that leaving didn't seem to effect her. In fact she's been climbing the walls waiting for today to get here faster..
I wish I could see how calm she is at 11 o'clock tonight when she has to get up and go to the bathroom, or when they serve her some weird something for dinner. LOL...

on their website, and there were no pictures anywhere of kids eating..

Sounds like your little butterfly is starting to use her wings. I missed my youngest when he did week long camps. Sometimes I think it's harder on the parents than the kids. I loved going away to camp as a child, if that's any consilation? We were so busy and had so much fun I didn't have time to get home sick.
