just started training - would you rather

a) be real skinny and have to put on mass

b) be a little overweight and chubby and have to lose the weight to see the muscle

it would be better if you said what the goal is some poeple are content to look like John Basedow and press those 20's others arent..

as far as what is easier i think a heavy person would see better results and prolly grow a little more muscle while stripping BF
 
definetly start off skinny, if it was a very lean skinny. i dont care what anyone says i rather struggle to get bigger than have to lose weight.
 
I've started at both, and prefer to start with a little extra on my frame. Right now I'm probably mid to high teens as far as BF and the energy and gains come easier. It just gets frustrating in the beginning when the muscle is building under the fat and you look fatter. I'm hating it. I never hold fat on my limbs, only torso, so as long as I keep my shirt on I don't look Killaesque.
