calm down, read ebay policy, they don't allow shit like that - at least that used to be the case

This is by no means some big long-winded answer. it's sunday, i'm smokin' a stogie, and chillin' so longer answers will have to wait:

One of the things i sometimes do when bored to see what's "hot" on ebay -- is to go to www.ebay.com, search for say "a" (text search) and you'll get like billions of results shown.

Now order by earliest ending, and take a look at all the tiems that have like 20-80 bids on it. Note those items. Those are items that are HOT and in DEMAND.

If you can find those items cheaper than what they're going for -- boom -- recipe for success.

See all those items also in that list, with ZERO bids. Those are COLD items. Items NO ONE wants. Don't sell those items. Like...duh. :)

Quick little exercise that requires almost little to no effort. Why al those auction profit courses and books don't mention something as freakin' simple as that -- i have no idea.

Great idea, I've spent countless hours just viewing other people auctions - I'll find a powerseller and go through their feedback and find out all the products they are selling to make money.

One area of ebay I was looking into seriously was selling concert/sport/other large event tickets. There is definately some money to be made if you have time to research and buy the tickets.

Hi Wesley,

Do you have any experience selling on eBay? Do you know html? We did a recent test selling our eBooks on eBay, and they sold well. But eBay kept banning them. I bet an eBay expert could team up with us and do very well.

Why ?

I had issues previously with Ebay while selling ASP batons (apparently California's law allows Taser but not a miserable baton). Books are banned only if they're considered offensive (Nazi, racial hate, terrorism...). There're folks selling books on Ebay on how to use Salt Peter to screw up someone's sex drive or how to stick a penny on your car's chip and produce 30hp+ when we all know it's bullshit.

Here's a summary:

PayPal - we cannot link to PayPal, because we sell books on steroids and have adult advertisers.

Google - they advertise here, but we cannot sell Nelson's book, "The Bodybuilding Truth" because it is "critical of an industry." The supplement industry.

eBay - we cannot sell Secrets of Mail Order Steroid Success, because it can show someone how they might do something illegal. Also, we were restricted from some of the catagories where our books sold the best.

Don't worry, I got kicked out of paypal too because firearm's business is against their policy...

George, have you tried other auction sites? I'd be willing to give it a go if you are serious. I've been buying/selling on ebay for over 7 years

I just found an item, locally and for free, that is small and easy to ship and averages $4.00 each and are selling like hot cakes. No exageration, I've made over 1000.00 week since I started 5 weeks ago. And that's all im saying.

What item do you sell? I not planning to sell anything because I don't have the funding, I young right now, and won;t for at least 5-7 years but i want to start trying to find some profitable endeavors once I do have the capital.

I've sent 3 assasins to sqeeze it out of you by daylight.

Porn sells on ebay really well. All you have to do is buy some of the larger lots ie. 300 DVD's for about $325.00 total. Then sell them for .89 a piece. No profit there, but you charge $5.50 for shipping which only costs $1.00 per. Minus ebay fees, Paypal fees, packing material, you looking at about $1-2 per DVD. Sell 500 per week and you get the jist.

If you don't already know where all the porn is listed, go to Everything Else on the search bar ( Left side of the main page ) Then go to Mature Audiences. Only allowed to enter if you have a credit card on file, so sorry -18's. But they sell everyhting.

Dildo's ( So it is confusing why Mr X gave geektofreak a hard time) Porn DVD'S Mags, Bondage crap... Everything you could think of.

Hope I helped...

My wife makes a killin selling on ebay (don't ask what because I will never tell). It is all matter of finding the right products. Like George said the bad thing is ebay can be a pain in ass and you are basically at their mercy. Unfortunately no other auction service compares to their amount of traffic. They are always pulling some of our listings for some bullshit reason or another. You can never call those assholes either when you have a problem because they don't give out their number only email, although I finally got a phone number at last, ye hah!!

George, you could possibly change the name of the book to something less inflammatory so that they would not pick up on the illegal intent, but not sure how you could do that and still sell it for the people it is directed at. I am sure their is a way around it somehow.

Some of the old PayPal execs started a new service that starts this week. They have been testing it for the last four months.

There's a good VHS tape called, "Trash to Cash." It gives tips on going to estate sales, purchasing items there, and then re-selling them on Ebay.

They sell it on Ebay. My local library has it in stock maybe yours does too.
