I will lose the gut! but i need some help first...

I've been lurking around these boards and doing as much research as possible, but now I need to ask some opinions here.

I'm 6'0", 200 lbs, 26yrs old.

I used to work out consistently in high school and college, but for the last couple of years I've been a lazy bitch.

So it's been 3 weeks that I've said hell no, I won't let this go any further. I've been working out again, and stopped eating shitty foods. My only problem is balancing everything out so I can ultimately lose the gut, and build some nice muscle.

So please offer me any advice you can. I've already been cutting carbs out of my diet, and sort of doing the atkins/ ckd diet, but I'm still trying to understand it all.

I've read the ckd manual, and the only concern I have is the use of ephedrine. I used to take it back in high school, but I don't like the stuff. So can I try ckd without it, or will there be less benefit.

I'll start with this first, but there's many more questions.

Please offer any other advice/suggestions for me,

Thanks!

I'm 27, weighed just about 200lbs about 6 months ago or so and for about the first 2-3 months I ate Special K for breakfast (used to skip breakfast) and for the most part worked my way up running on my treadmill from 15minutes to 60 minutes over that 6 months. I ran approximately 5.5mph for the 60 minutes in short time(first month) which claimed to be killing 600+calories and somehow equated that to about 200 fat calories. Combined with minor refrainment at fast food restaraunts though still eating out 5 or more times a week( often just less/ reasonable ), I lost 30+lbs and 5+% body fat in that 6 months. Still no 6-pack, but I look way better than anybody I work with at my age and I'm still going. It has leveled off and now I hardly loose weight, but I am now slowly loosing bodyfat % which is ultimately, your's and my goal. That time flew by, go for it bro.
