yep, nursing. when i finally get my degree and license i plan on working in the ER. i know it's not a high paying job, most nurses here make like 30k-40k a year depending on where they work. it's not a glamorous job either but it's a humane job. helping people when they are at their worst. the best part is i'll be doing something i love and also i'm good at. i did one of those tests that tells you what you are best suited for and one of the top ones are protective services and nursing/emt type work. i think i've heeded my calling. got 3 more years of school left though, dangit.

graphic designer... after an art degree and part of a masters in art..

maybe even a writer. i love writing about art/art theory.

When i grow up i am gonna be come a junkie. There someone has finally said it despite the commercials.

seriously good luck on that. nurses can make decent scratch. money isn't everything and self satisfaction is worth a lot more... believe me.

I have finished schooling. I got a degree and a PhD.. I am currently unemployed but hop to get something sorted within the next 2 months... it can take so long to get a job sometimes... I am hoping to get into ERP, or project engineering... or something that at least is fairly interesting. I briefly worked for Stanford Research Institute Consulting but I hated the boss....

My fiance (I am getting married to my Indian princess - Seema - in April) is an infant school teacher..... she is so good with little kids. I am getting married to a truly unique lady...

Congrats on an excellent career choice sushi.

Congrats on the upcoming nuptuals Garywary. The JOB will come, give it some time.

thanks yall. i hope to work for either a university hospital or a private hospital. we have a couple of good private hospitals in the area and a great university hosp. male nurses also attract the ladies too. :p

Good choice bro... I'm sure you'll enjoy it. My sister has been a nurse for about 4 years now... pediatric, and she loves it. She works 3 12 hours shifts... and overtime whenever she wants at time and a half. Can't beat 4 days off a week.

Your_Mom's_kneepad's is a male nurse, if I remember correctly... and he loves his job. Pretty Nightfly is a nurse too. Maybe if you have questions, these two could help you.

Good luck bro.

Cool sushi.. My Mom was an ER nurse years ago and told us of some crazy shit that came in there....
Lots of flashlight and rubber hotdogs lost in the nestle cavity..

Hey be sure to post some pic's of CrotchRocket accident victims for us, Okay ?

Sushi...I know a couple of nurses and they love it. If you have the "calling" I think you will find it a very rewarding career. Also, the pay isn't that bad. You are not going to make millions but realistically how many people actually do. You can make decent money and generally have the opportunity for as much overtime as you want if you want the extra bucks. If you go into certain specialties in nursing you can really increase the money also. Good luck.

Can't ignore the fact that most of your co-workers will be women. Just another perk.

After a couple of majors here also, I have finally decided on Respiratory Care...chose this because my grandma has breathing problems and my grandfather died because of of respiratory problems...after that, it all came to me...:) I think the pay is decent and for me it will be very rewarding...I want to work in the NICU...can't wait...;)

Depending on where you are, that 30-40K annual salary could double. Demand is alwys there....good luck.

yup.. matt beat me to it.. but the nurses here make around $20 starting.. in san fran.. they're making $33.50 starting..

a traveling nurse can make about $35 an hour, if you include benefits (apartment, medical care).
