I played high school footballl

I was the only cheerleader who wore glasses back in ninth grade!! Does that make me cool?!

And just for your info, they were cool glasses back then. Now I'm too cool for glasses!!

I'm going back to college in 1 year. Going out for the team...

That'll make me a 42 yo football player. And I WILL make the team...

I lost TWO State wrestling championship finals. Back to back...being number 2 (twice) sucked!

This is happening a lot lately in the NCAA. Let me know how it turns out. I have eligibility left too, and I'm 40. I'll bet you're in a lot better shape than a lot of those young uns.

What school are you gonna play for?

i played football in 8th grade at 5'10" 135lbs. i got my ass pummelled on a daily basis. i can't tell you how much i hated playing football, but i did it because cross country wasn't helping my social life out much. i got in on one play the whole year, which was when we kicked off after being up by 40-something points. i somehow managed to tackle the guy running the ball back. it was the ugliest tackle in the history of tackling, i basically spun he and myself around by holding onto his jersey and then i hurt my thumb when i landed. it was the most pathetic football career ever so i never played again. i stuck to soccer and tennis because i was much better at that shit.
i went to an all guys catholic school run by hungarian monks from 7th grade until hs graduation. my class had 30 guys in it and in 7th grade we actually had some kid who was on steroids. he was extremely ripped for his age and could bench 225 in 7th or 8th grade(i forget). this kid, Buddy, would freak out on occasion from all the test in his body and just start breaking shit. classic roid rage episodes. but he was all dominating on the football field. he broke like every rushing record we had and no one ever wanted to do hitting drills against him because you would get smashed. he hit me once and i think i went about 20 feet before i realized what happened. ah yes.

supersizeme and I apparently share a life or something.
I ran track and XC, and was undefeated all through high school - although not at states, best finish there was 5th - never got the whole "peaking" thing right. I blame my coach.
my frosh year of high school, I had just moved and knew that xc was getting me zero women, so I thought I'd do football. but I was 6'something and like 140lbs. I made it through doubles and got my ass kicked every single day. never bothered to learn the offensive plays, so "when in doubt, run an out" was my motto. I was an end, so that meant that on some plays our quaterback got railed b/c I was supposed to block, but was instead downfield doing my own thing. no wonder he hated me.
then in practice we weren't allowed to actually hit the QB when on defense - as an end I could get through every time, and then I'd just stand there knowing I couldn't hit the QB, but the coach would be amazed that I always got through. he was telling the team that was impressive and we were all standing there and then someone just tackled me out of the blue. that'll show me.
so then in real games I'd get through the defense, and then just sort of stand there. one time my shoulder pads broke and spun around, and I was just standing in the middle of the field looking down at them. then I got tackled by my own teammate.

so many stories, all of them pathetic.
I later found out that the reason my teammates hated me was b/c during doubles we had to write our names on our helmets, like J. Johnson, or M. Hardy, etc etc - and mine happens to be the same as a very famous and good running back in that format - so they thought I was being cocky...

the end.
