If you mean cars yeah I used to work as amechanic.

actually a snowmobile but i think you could help. really cold here lately, sled is a bit hard starting. occassionaly when engaging the throttle or stopping, it dies. starts back up and idles smooth. just a stalling and a little backfire...think my carb is dirty/icy?

i hate 2cycles! My race kart engines were always a major fucking pain. They like to run one way only--wide open. Unfort. u prob need to take apart and clean but try easy shit first.

it's a two stroke twin...98 polaris indy 700

if it stalls when i throttle it, does that mean not enough gas is getting to my carb?

my car does that when i dont put the middle grade gas in it
could u need to put higher grade gas in it?

running on premium, though i think the octane is too high. have you ever been snowmobling before? gawd damn, what a good time :)

I would guess that someone monkeyed with the carburetor trying to get more performance out of it. Also sounds like a lack of octane....my boat does that when some bastard gas station slips regular into the premium holding tank.

Find a good Polaris mechanic....snowmobile engines are a bit specialized though also used on small aircraft to some extent.

You may just have some old gasoline causing this problem. Very well could just be the gas.

Could also be the timing.

Look at the plugs....they always tell a story. Could have the worng type of plugs in it.

Any number of things really.

Could get a tune up and see what happens.
