I need creationists to explain this one to me

What needs to be explained? Frozen bacteria came back to live when thawed. big friggin deal.

Bacteria were also brought on the arc.... LOL

ITS A LIE!!!! A GRAND COVERUP BY THE OPPRESSIVE LIBERALS TO MAKE YOU THINK THERE IS NO GOD!!!! REMEMBER THE BIBLE IS FOREVER AND TRUE!!!

so what? i think god gave this planet what it needed to possibly make advanced life, and let it go on its own. to me, its not a question of whether theres a god, but if he cares. when we die, do we really go to heaven?

i think the major flaw in creationism is that many also regard the earth as the only source of life/centre of the universe

i think science will debunk this with time....i think you have to look at the universe as a whole if you will consider god creating us

i also wonder how much of the bible is just how people interpreted stuff...without getting too nut-pot sci-fi i always wondered if the arc was actually a more advanced race trying to preserve life on earth and some dude wrote it down as an arc

You mean the interpretation some people have of the books that have been re-interpreted countless times over many centuries of which the Bible is composed? Sure.

So, umm...what's your point? I believe in creation. I also believe in 8 million year old prokaryotes. Go figure.

I don't think that has anything to do with creationism, though I agree it may be a major flaw in the viewpoints of many creationists.

The truth is that God is "the only source of life/centre of the universe." If their is life outside of earth, so be it.

thanks for responding. everything I can find says the creation of the earth was approx 5000 years before the birth of christ.
Recorded Chinese history pretty much wipes this out.

Humans have this little tendancy to put a human fence around God. This includes God's act of creation.

yeah sorry, i should have said that....that is the major flaw...

I have read the bible. It doesnt mention dates one time.

So 8,000,000 years old bacteria, it just doesnt matter.

We have enough debate with people arguing over whether the Bible is true, anyone that claims there are dates implied is just giving their own interpretation or claim. Then we have to debate if they are right or wrong. If science can show 10,000 yrs and they claim the Bible says 5000, that makes them wrong, not the bible since it doesnt say.

Also, assuming God is all knowing and all powerful, he would know humans infatuation with history and research, etc. Whats not to say that he couldnt create things that would look really older than they are under our evaluation methods just for fun?

If you worship an all powerful and all knowing God, then nothing is outside the realm of possibility.

? God is a mystery. An unsolvable mystery.

pascal's wager.

if God really does exist, and you believe in Him, then you die and have an afterlife of eternal bliss. if you don't believe in Him, then you spend your life in eternal hell.

if god really doesn't exist, and you believe in him, then you die, but you die a happier person. if you don't believe in him, then you die, but you die slightly less happier.

therefore, it is rational to believe in God.

what do you think?

The above statement really does sound stupid and I do believe. Maybe God just enjoys making fools of us all. How in the hell can someone make theirselves believe in God? Seek, is all I can say. ]

you've missed the point. the bacteria is over 8 million years old.

Your problem is you confuse intelligent design people with young earth people.

Just as most people who *think* they are evolutionists really just believe in natural selection and have no clue that evolution means random genetic mutations are the result of going from particles to people. The math behind that is nearly impossible.

They should stop being called evolutionists and should start calling themselves mutationists.

And I'm not a scientist? Neither was Darwin. He was a socialist propagandist (and prefered his legacy as such) whose educational background was in ... theology!

So, yeah, some people think everything was created in 7 days a few thousand years ago as is written in their religious text.

But there are those of us who see common genetics among creatures and conclude that is the sign of a common designer and not of a common ancestor.

that may be some of the funniest reading i have done in years.

1st Place: "My Uncle Is A Man Named Steve (Not A Monkey)"
Cassidy Turnbull (grade 5) presented her uncle, Steve. She also showed photographs of monkeys and invited fairgoers to note the differences between her uncle and the monkeys. She tried to feed her uncle bananas, but he declined to eat them. Cassidy has conclusively shown that her uncle is no monkey.

2nd Place: "Women Were Designed For Homemaking"
Jonathan Goode (grade 7) applied findings from many fields of science to support his conclusion that God designed women for homemaking: physics shows that women have a lower center of gravity than men, making them more suited to carrying groceries and laundry baskets; biology shows that women were designed to carry un-born babies in their wombs and to feed born babies milk, making them the natural choice for child rearing; social sciences show that the wages for women workers are lower than for normal workers, meaning that they are unable to work as well and thus earn equal pay; and exegetics shows that God created Eve as a companion for Adam, not as a co-worker.
-edit it just keeps getting better

LOL, I have to show my wife that one tonight! :D

jesus christ, DOES THIS CONFLICT WITH THE TIMELINE OF THE BIBLE!?!?!?!!!

The answer to your question is YES. Pretty much all of science conflicts with the implied timeline of the Bible. The question is which do you believe, fact or fiction?

I doubt the creator of reality added false artifacts to his creation. Secondly, given any concept, real or fictional, their will be SOMEONE will believe it.

True. Although the artifacts do not support the evolution-mutationists theory as species appear and disappear without any halfway mark.

Also consider this regarding organisms that reproduce sexually. Not only does one mutation have to occur, but two mutations must occur in the opposite sexes and then those two mutants must have sex with each other.

Remember - a species is defined by it's inability to reproduce with another species. An ape cannot impregnate a chimp.

So what are the odds of two identical mutations caused by radiation from the sun happening to two creatures within proximity of each other of different sexes and then having sex with each other.

Believing that is how man came about sounds like.... an act of faith.

hooey i tell you, hooey. seriously though i think you don't have to believe in God per se (or it being rational for that matter) just that you believe in something which can drive you to better yourself, whatever that may be. woah that was all spiritual an stuff
