I need a gun, what should I get?

With all this war and terrorism crap I've decided to get a gun to protect myself from weapons of mass destruction. I was looking at a Russian made SKS rifle. The gun shop had 30 round clips to go with them. Are these clips legal? I thought they outlawed clips larger than 10 rounds. Basically, I want a dirt cheap rifle that holds a lot of bullets and shoots them fast (that way accuracy doesn't matter as much). They were selling the guns for about $150 and $30 for the clips. Any thoughts? Are these decent rifles?

Actually, the best defensive weapon close up like in your house
where is it mostly legal to kill peeps would be a Mossberg Assault
style Shotgun.

Pistol grip
Shortest legal barrel
Pump so there is nothing to jam for the most part
12 Ga 3" Magnum loads in 00 Buck

Put some Fiber glow sights on the end and you are set

Totally agree with the Shotgun. A Pistol Grip Mossberg Pump Action Shotgun with 00 Buck. Besides that always good to have a Glock or Sig around !! And a fat 4 /6 cell Maglite.

Get a Remington 870 Police Magnum shotgun or a Parkerized model with pistol grip and collapsable buttstock. 14" or 18" barrel but more than that, otherwise it's a pain in the ass...

I don't guess those clips will do much good if it's not attached to the gun. Granted, I'm not a weapons expert but I somehow don't see the bullets making it into the chamber without having the clip attached. Was this part of the Brady law?

I saw a Mossberg Bullpup shotgun that looked pretty intimidating but I'd prefer something with some range. What happens if I see Osama from 100 yards? I don't think the 12 gauge would be much use or even a pistol. I also want something that fires fast, my aim is not too good but if you can fire 10 rds per second accuracy isn't too important

Shotgun totally and much safer to light off in the home, the rifles will sail through your walls and neighbors. Besides, you rarely need to defend yourself at 100 yards, it's gonna be close when it goes down, about 15 ft. Shotgun and sidearm (mossberg and glock) is all you need for the basics. The shotgun and a visiable and audiable deterent effect as well, meaning that it will get the job done minus the court process. I don't like pistol grips, I prefer to trap the stock between my arm and side and will be harder for someone to snatch from you locked in that way. And the wife stands a better chance with the shotgun as well.

Then just get what I have: AR-15/M-4 with pre-ban 30 rounds mag and JHP bullets. Get a scope, either a Trijicon or Elcan.

What would a gun/rifle do against chemical, biological or atomic weapons? Thats why they call it weapons of MASS destruction. Thats like fightin a whale with a water gun.

It isn't against the law to carry one in your car unloaded. Just think if one dude would of had one in their car driving by when that huge bank robbery gunfight broke out. Those guys were in body armor and no 9mm would do shit nor a shotgun. YOu could of opulled over, popped in you 30rnd clip and fired 2 shots and ended the biggest gunfight in recent history. I dream about the day...lol

For home defence I like a good ol .45 pistol because of the ease of movement. If a dude is walking in my bedroom I don't want to have to dig under the bed to pull out the shotgun. I want to be able to reach right between my matress and turn my wrist and fire.

Basically they are little fiber optic "Non Electric" GLOW IN THE DARK sticks ons that are used on the top of the shotgun barrell. When it is dark, it helps you know where the end of the barrel is pointing.

whatever gun you get make sure it looks more like a 'hunting' gun than a 'gangsta' gun. Juries are very impressionable and prejudicial about appearances.

I reload and took several SWAT style classes and they told me they can try to get you with trying to design a bullet to kill or to be more brutal or some bullshit like that. What is a bullet made for???

Mossbergs are great guns period. I have 2 835 Ultimags 12ga's that shoot 3.5" shells. Never one jam, miss feed, great guns.

SKS's are great rifles. Its hard to properly scope them so forget about that. 30 round detachables are legal, but not when used in the rifle. Its a great gun, it will work and the ammo is cheap, fun gun. I never cleaned mine once and it worked like a champ.

10 round mags with stripper clips work well and are legal.

I say save your money and find a SAR-1 AK, you can get one for like $300 prolly.

Personally, there good for starter guns, but I wouldnt have one of those soviet bloc peices allowed in my safe.
Remington, Colt, SA, S&W, MArlin, Browning, etc. stick with american guns IMO.
