Well needless to say, my job was gay. (that wasn't supposed to rhyme)

I just turned in my resignation and I'm going to take another job with less stress and a better schedule. I'm taking a 40k paycut, but man it's necessary to simplify things and make more times for the things that are important to me. Part of me is hesitant about going backwards a bit, but I'm really excited about no more 14 hour days all the time, but after so long will i be bored now?

Just feels weird

that's what i'm thinkin. the cash just isn't worth it anymore for that bullshit. I have the day off now and I'm already bored though.

I'm gonna try and go to a skydiving place today though and see if they'll throw my fat ass out of a plane. Never done it b4 but noone i know will do it LOL

On 14 hour days how did you find time to hit the gym?

Step backwards? I think not. This is a step forward. Life isnt just about money, and you realize this now...now, you have taken the iniative to do something about your life to make yourself HAPPIER and a little more stree-free. Make time for yourself and others now, you might enjoy that more than the k's you were earning before. Besides, at 14 hour days, you were on a road bound to an old life fast and an exhausted one at that.

I dunno, its just the way I see it atleast.

Gym at work for cardio, and then stopping on the way home to hit weights. Maybe that's what it was, but it seems like the last 3 years i've only had time to work out, make meals in advance and sleep. It sucked, but now i'm just an 8 to 5 joe so i'm happy about that and I still have a very visible position with a great company here in MN.
It does have 10% travel but i'm sure i'll be able to turn that into an escort extravaganza when i go :)

With 14 hour days, he racked up a ton of posts here on EF with his alter.

Also, he would hit the e-Gym to stay in shape.

Good job man. Once more people realize that life isn't all about money, maybe the slaveworkers will get the picture that they can't do what they are doing anymore. On the flipside though, some have this delusion that if they don't work harder and harder, their life won't mean anything. I don't see how this could be possible when they are retired and looking back on their life realizing that all they did was make investors and corporate execs more money. To be a corporate bitch is not my idea of a career hence why I'm still looking for a low paying vet tech job that I will enjoy

You decided to say "fuck the system" and actually work at a place that is more in tune with what you desire out of life.

Good for you.

Being someone's bitch, what a surprise, ain't all what's it cracked up to be.

If money is a concern (when is it not?) -- work your way up at this new place. Or find new ways for the company to succeed. There's always options.

Beginning in a position where your job is viewed as a joy as opposed to a chore -- is a necessity.

No one's ever started a million-dollar company hating it and leaving at 5. Passion, joy and excitement is a given.
