does anyone know anything about drug screening using hair samples? what can it detect and how long can it go back?

It can go back as long as you hair... They will probably cut it from the root. They can test for anything.

I know it depends on the length of your hair. Longer hair can give a longer history.

It can detect anything that is in your blood, prescribtion meds., really anything that they want to test for.

as far as time though, lets say you did some white six months ago, can it be detected?

I'm pretty sure it can detect what you have done in the past, that is why they cut from the root..

If your hair is 3 inches long and it took 3 moths to grow that length then they can detect what you have done in the past 3 months.

Six months- your hair has probably grown out - if you have short hair.

a guy at work tried to get a job with another company, he said he failed this test and im just being nosey. he told me he had not done anything in a long time. i think it was marijuana though.

how about steriods, can it be detected thru hair sampling?

They can look for whatever they want.. If you cut your hair, they will just take a sample form somewhere else

LOL, when I worked for --------- I got tested all the time because I was in front of the public and working with wild animals.. I was trying to get my hair to grow out and there was always this short piece
