I just downloaded open range, clicked on it and it came up with the ( 80040200 Unable to download an appropriate decompressor) error. no sound. wtf, everytime this happens I have to do something different, never the same thing. been looking for the right shizzle for 30 minutes now. anyone have a clue?

running XP btw

you may want to try virtual dub. get at least version 1.5.4 . what will happen is it will convert the audio to something that should be able to play on your player.

give that a try. of course, it will have to run through the whole movie, so itll be 2 hours or so.

download this program "codec viewer" , i use it all the time, im not sure the exact website so your gonna have to search on google for the download. you open the file your trying to view with the codec viewer and it tells you exactly what audio and video codecs are needed to view the file. You can then search for those codecs on the web..very easy to find.
