I hate my job

marshallmadman

New member
Are there any online sources that I can use to determine an alternate career path? i.e. An online website that offers a profiling system to determine what type of career path to take. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey what's wrong dude
Why do u hate your job also what kind of job do you do and how long have u been there,
Also what would u like to do with your life

i'm a phychic. i can help you.
answer these questions for me:
what do you do now?
what do you love about your job?
what do you hate about it?
would you rather take apart a tv or talk to a jehovah witness?
does the site of blood bother you?
how about gay love sex?

That's a whole load of questions. I'm 36, and I've been with this company for 15 years. I manage production in a factory that manufactures guns. I hate the disorganization. The system that we use to obtain parts for production is highly inadequate, which leads to shortages of parts on just about everything every month. I am always the one that ends up taking the heat for others screw ups. I'm not a moron. I am just really tired of busting my ass to make a couple of other guys really fucking rich.

this requires a lot of work/thought/work/enregy. but, ever think of analyzing the situation and putting together a proposal for the higher-ups? will that work? hell, it may get you more loot, more recognition, and make your life easier. lot easier said than done, I know.

2 Things to consider:

1 - What do you like?

2 - What are you good at??

...therein lies your profession

Have you tried to offer Fixing the System ?

Yep. Everyone will start hitting the "independant thought button" if I rock the boat around here. All they want is a "dream world livin' yes man" around here.

if you present a well-thought out plan/analysis to your bosses that will save them time, money and problems and increase profit and productivity, will they still be against it? I understand change is ver hard to implement, but it is worth a shot?

answer these questions for me:

what do you do now? Customer service

what do you love about your job? I get to browse websites and chat on IRC

what do you hate about it? Everything

would you rather take apart a tv or talk to a jehovah witness? Take apart a TV

does the site of blood bother you? Depends on if it's human or animal

how about gay love sex? Doesn't sound too interesting

marshmellowman- if you want to change carreers, it sound like you want to organize and manage- look into being a project manager or a rodeo cowboy.
the project manager sounds like a better option but rodeo cowboys get to wear chaps.

The only way I think it would fly would be if I could show them an exact dollar amount that they would be able to put in their pockets every single month. They make a hell of a lot of money right now, so it's difficult to get them to fix something that they really don't think is broke.

there's an important point touched upon here by some of y'all. it's about the company's culture; their attitudes. it sounds like you're working at a place that isn't run well. one that doesn't welcome new ideas and change. if so, your frustration is understandable. perhaps you would prefer a different (more dynamic) environment, in which your colleagues are intelligent, reasonable, and open to innovation.

or perhaps you could just learn to suck copious amounts of dick, like killahbee.

he was probably doing it while posting here. what a talented phallus-grabber.

I think you're hitting the proverbial nail on the head here. The only people who get anywhere in this company are the ball lickers. I'm not one of them, hence my frustration.

JA can help you with that my friend. Dude didn't get to be Head Drive-Up Window Dood at Wendy's for nuthin.

Just wanted to thank everyone for their posts. There were a lot of constructive answers, and some that weren't so constructive. I won't name names, lipgirl. I did laugh, though. I had a 3 hour meeting with all department supervisors, owner of the company, procurement personnel, and etc. Everything is now much better, and I'll not be in such a bad mood when Monday rolls around.

i'd say look for a way to really forumate the process improvements you think need to be done, present them, and if the bosses don't like it, look for a similar type of type in the same industry or a related one. That way you can keep your 15 years of experience working for you. Starting over is not bad, but it usually means starting off making much less then you were before.

There is a lot of truth to the second part of your post. I am working on the first part.
