I found 'em in the gym Saturday. Yeah, someone left 'em behind and I took 'em.
I ain't never bought a piece of gym gear in my life. My weightlifting belt, knee wraps and past wrist straps all had previous owners before they turned their backs and I came along. The Lost And Found bucket in the gym is my best friend.
Anyway, back to these cool ass straps, I am so excited now. Cause for one thing, I FINALLY have matching straps. In the six years I have spent in gyms, my straps have always been different brands/colors. I don't know why some motherfuckers just can't lose two of 'em at the same time. Be awful convenient for me. Sometimes I have one white strap, and one black one. Cause I ain't for nothing gonna be known for stealing an ugly ass red strap. I have had all brands of straps too. Including those "hook" type straps. That you strap around your wrist and then clamp the metal "hook" part onto the bar. So you can row with minimal hand grip effort. Actually, it took me three weeks to get a pair of those. I found one and had to scrouge the gym and L&F bucket on a daily basis until the other one appeared. Then first workout I had with them, I hated them. Man, they sucked. So bad, that I sold to another buddy before I left the gym that day.
But these straps now, they have rubber/foam padding on the inside (oooooooohhhhh), and they fit nice and snug around my wrists. (I wore them all the way home and practiced my strapping technique on the steering wheel). Right where they connect at the palms, instead of a long dangling strap like most, they have a 3 inch wide, 5 inch high rubber strap. Flexible too. Probably made by NASA. But you wrap it around the bar and just squeeze down.
Man, these things are the schnitzzz! I didn't have another back workout schedule until next week, but I am actually going to work back today just to try them out. After the dye on them dries. Cause I don't want nobody coming up to me in the gym and recognizing these babies.
