I got my new computer today

That and I need to move the 50 GB of p0rn. 150,000 files. I have 7.28 GB in 34,000 files of one chick.

I may need to get my eyes tested and my hands shaved too.

all the latest and greatest? what kind of video card? did you spend like $650 on ATI's newest 16x with 512mb GDDR3? *drooooolz*

The specs are as follow:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+
Asus M2N-E motherboard
2GB OCZ DDR2-800 (PC2-6400) ram
3 250GB Sata 2 drives in RAID 5
eVga 7600 GT KO
DVD ROM and a DVD Burner

I didn't buy bleeding edge Vid card because in 6 months it will be a mid range. :)

Believe it or not, that isn't true. I bought my Radeon 9800 Pro (256MB DDR) about 2.5 years ago, and its still pretty damned good. Mind you, its not the best, but I have been able to run every new game on pretty much all the highest graphical options (or near highest). And I only have a 2.2 MHhz with 1GB DDR. So, don't discount the new stuff as old a day later.

That doesn't mean to dump an asston of money, either. I'm just trying to illustrate a point. It isn't quite as bad as they say, is all. :)

I am running a 5600 Ultra right now in my Athlon XP 2700+ (2.167 Ghz) and the only game I have tried to play that runs poorly is Doom3. I want to get Quake 4 and this card will run that well enough. It was $170, so I felt it was more in the sweet spot with respect to cost vs performance.

I realize that its a bit of an exaggeration to say it will be a 'mid range' that quick, but it's not too far off. The 7600 GT will run about on par with a 6800 GT(Second to the 6800 Ultra) from about 1 year ago.
