I can't see!!

Okay psyche. I can see quite fine!

Wow. Never knew how much 15 mins can change your life. It's soo cooolll!!

The first 10 mins was kinda uncomfortable. But it went by quick. They used fancy space-age machinery and computers to laser it in and do it quick. REally cool! Something out of Star Trek.

I paid $3750.

btw: If you wanna do it. Go to : Viewpoint Laser Center 3900 Kilroy Airport Way Suite 109, Long Beach, CA 90802
(562) 290-8440

omg! The NICEST people, warmest personalites, organized information, pleasant decor, very professional and they spend all the time you need with you to make sure you are comforable and satisfied. I can't extend enough accolades on these folks! And the doctor was upfront, honest, professiona and does a good job at making you feel at ease.

So anyone wanna buy some used glasses? They're designer? comes with certificate of authenticity from me.

How did you pick this place? I'm sure there are some top notch doctors in the Los Angeles area. Are they here?

Biteme wants to get that done one day ;)

Congrats on the new eyes ;)

I went to a LOT of places to get consultations. Many were scary, half-ass, dinky places that just want you read a chart, tell you some things, then get out so someone else can come in.

Many i found out are still using 3-5 YEAR OLD machines to do the lasers. ViewPoint uses the latest 2004 CustomWave Vyrix machine. That is a big monster. They even showed you a nice 10 minute video on it. Was cool.

I heard good things from other people so i went down. Was really impressed by their staff. I mean, hell, they even got milk and cookies in the lobby along with a projection TV and a magazine stand that has Muscle and Fitness!! :)

nice man. You see some halos right now?

I see em all the time. I can`t even drive at night. I got my procedure/Lasik a few years ago and still wear glasses but I was very nearsighted to begin with and my prescription is a lot smaller now.

Good going Razorguns. Glad it worked out fine. They say the accuity changes for better or worse over the healing process.

I used to work at Epson right next door. I'll get lasik right after I get my boobs done.

I"m seriously thinking about getting it b/c I can't stand contacts anymore.. How do they keep you from moving??

Are your eyes dry or tearing alot since you've had it done??

It's sweet isn't it, I got mine done last month.

no problems what so ever.

Mild halos at night at first but went away once my eyes healed up a bit.

Best money I every spent.

Make sure to give us an update in a few weeks. You may experience some side effects then, but hopefully you don't. Eye sight is definitely something to cherish. Congrats bro!

no halos.

the new fancy computerized equipment they use these days (ie: the GOOD expensive doctors, so $499/doctors with 5 year old machinery are out of the question) really decreases the odds of complications nowadays. The doctor I used even did a computerized test to tell me if i even have a CHANCE of getting halos. I'm serious.

First couple hours were kinda painful. I could barely open my eyes, and when I did -- lots of tearing. I just went home, and went to sleep and woke up a few hours later feeling much better. I still got my big black dorky shades on tho. :)

btw; if you use carecredit.com -- you can get it done with $0 done, 0% interest for 1 year.

Your eyes do sting like a bitch the first few hours, I think the tempory haols were from the risidual blood around my pupils.

Once the blood started to dissipate they went away completely.

The whole putting 3 different eye drops into your eyes every hour for the first 3 or 4 days kinda sucks though.

Did they put you to sleep for this?

How could you stop yourself from involuntary flinching when the equipment was in your eye?

No. They put like these steroid things in your eyes, then prop it open. You just feel this pressure going down on your eyes which is probably the toughest part of the surgery. But no real pain. The slits are real tiny and you don't feel it with the heavy medication put into your eyes. Then the "flap" is put right back after it's done. The flap is only up like maybe 50 seconds or so.

You`re definately awake when the procedure is done. The plastic thing they put in your eye makes it impossible to blink. I really was`nt uncomfortable at all during the procedure. My wife was standing right there and watched the whole thing.

You CAN move your eye around though, because apparantly I was doing that without knowing and the DR. kept putting it back in place. lol I was supposed to stare at a dot or something and it kept moving so I kept following it! lol Maybe that`s why I`m still messed up. lol

I`d really like to get a corrective surgury if possible to not have to wear glasses. I would really give a finger for that. Maybe Perkel`s.

I had PRK done when it was relatively new. I still need glasses but I can function without them. My vision was worse than 20/400 (I couldn't see any letters on the eye chart) Afterwards I passed the vision test for my drivers license. I can now legally drive without specs. I'm considering going back for a tune up to try to fully correct my sight.

Some questions...

So they didn't put an IV or inject you with anything? The medication is applied directly to your eyeball?

Ok... how long was the entire procedure?

it was just drops, like eyedrops.

entire procedure probably took 15-20 minutes from room enter to room left.
