I finally understand the oil problems!

Ok so I was playing Civ3 and it is the 1400's, I am the most tech advanced civilization, but the problem is there is only 1 oil icon on the entire map and it's owned by another country. I needed that oil to win, but that country couldve easily crushed me because it had the largest military, and I had bad relations with that country because they kept trespassing on my land so I could not trade with them. What do I do? Well the oil icon was near the shore, so I sent a team of nuclear subs and blasted the fuck out of the city where it was located. They went to war with me, but it didnt matter because I had the oil right? No, I had no means of exporting the oil. I built a harbor but the other civilizations cultural border built a blockade around the harbor. I had to send in 4 fleets of nuclear subs to blow the fuck out of the blockade and I finally was able to use the oil. It took around 3 hours to finally get to the point where I could export the oil, all the while the civilization was kicking my ass on land taking over about 6 of my cities. Thankfully they had a shitty navy so they werent able to attack the heart of my civilization (I had the best navy and all my main cities were built near water) Once I got the oil exported I started building Modern Armors and kicked their fucking asses and took over the world within the hour!

God I love Civ3, if you've never played this game you should go pick it up! Best game ever made!

Nuclear subs in the 1400's? I think we'd all be dead today if that were a reality back then!

last game I played before that the industrial age didnt start until 2010 just depends on how you play it, I like being the most technicaly advanced though

I knew an old Unix buddy that was into Civ, I've never played it...
