I feel like a box.

Well so far I am up to 275 pounds on this cycle (week 6) with 6 more weeks to go. I am beching 550 as a max and I am loving how powerfull I feel. But I am in a catch 22. I feel like a box. I am so thick up top I am well into XXXL shirts but my size 36 pants are getting a little tight. I have never and will never be a ripped guy. Old Schoolers know I am more of a powerlifter type. My shoulders are so wide now that my shirts drape off them and make me look like a huge square. I would like to stay in 36 waist pants but don't wanna lose my strength that seems to be goin up and up. Should I just stick it through this cycle and worry about it when I reach my strongest? Sorry about my ramblin but thios is whats on my headat the moment.

add some cardio at a half hour for 3-4 days a week.....i highly doubt it will hurt your strength and should keep you in your 36 pants.....

I know what you mean man....when ever I try to cut up a little I feel small and not near as cut as I want to be.. so I decide to put some weight back on and think Im getting fat...my weight has been like a yo-yo from 285-217-now at 240 and dont know which way to go up or down..

what's up with the hips and legs bro? If you are getting that big up top why aren't the wheels balancing you out...what I am trying to say is that instead of trying to thin out the waist why not hit the lower half as hard as the upper?

 Not to be a smart ass, but I've seen your pics way back when and was wondering if your 36's fit or does your belly hang over. Right now I'm 225, 5-11 and my 36's fit, no overhang. If you got the overhang it is a sign of being unhealthy. It puts alot of stress on your body and being big and holding waistline fat is dangerous. I went up to 244 this winter and went up to 38's, no overhang but I had no wind and was sluggish. Strong as hell, but I dont feel good at that weight. I don't think I will ever be a ripped guy either but I also wont feel that way again.

I work my legs very hard and leg press 1300 pounds for sets as part of my leg day but my legs never get thick or at least not thick enough to balance out my top half. I'll probably be one of these old grandpas with stick legs and no butt when I get old.

I know the story, I always wear pants.

No squats?

Screw the leg press, squats and straight leg deads are the way to go. But I don't think thats what he means by blocky look. I think it's more or less straight up and down, not like a pencil, but wide. More or less a shoulder to waist ratio? Either way, if your strength is going up like never before, don't stop now. Add some cardio just to stay healthy. Just keep going, in 6 weeks it will be over and WORTH it. Then you can deal with this. Good luck, and I hope you keep making great gains.

I agree hit some cardio. I never thought I would be ripped like you but I have been ripped and getting ripped again.

When I train to get lean I lift heavy and always get stronger, I do tons of cardio and my body just seems to make a change in composition. I think the cadio always for more body flow to the muscles post workout and better recovery. (this is not done clean). This is just me but I have found a lot of bigger guys have this same thing happen to them
