Please tell me there is a secret out there to help relieve the bloated feeling us women get before our wonderful, blessful, freakin periodss?!!!:mad:
 
For water retention Dandelion Root and Atragalus help (or supposedly). You can go to most any health food or nutrition place and they can point you to a good supplement for that sort of thing that probably contains these. Also cut back on salt during that time.
 
geez..im not sure:rolleyes: but i would def. say to drink lots of h20!! this will help. ahhhhh being a woman is soooo wonderful but i always rethink that thought when that time of the month rolls around. hate it!!:mad: hang in there girl!! -- KBgrl
 
as kb said, lots of water, reduce your sodium, try to eat really clean... cherries are supposed to be good natural pain relievers, asparagus is supposed to help take excess soduim out of your system... dont know if that's true or not, but hey... they both taste so good once that it wont mater anyways...

best thing to do is make sure you own a couple pairs of pants that are draw string and just adjust as needed, its never as bad as you think!! :) (my fiance is ALWAYS laughing at me when i complain about my bloat... he says he can never see the difference... )
 
periods are a pain in the @$$

This is an ironic post. Today I've finally gotten my period after a 6 month hiatus. I've only had one over the past year. Yeah, it's wonderful not getting it, but I was very freaked out about the possibility of getting osteoperosis from it. Periods are a curse whether you're getting them or not! Now I'm wondering if this will be the Mother of all peroids, since I haven't had any in a while!
My dermotologist told me to get B6 and take it three times a day for water retention-- he told me taking it before/during a period would reduce water retention and lessen acne. Who knows. Good luck!

Water does indeed remove water, I don't know how, but it just does, so go crazy on the water front during that time.

Boy I know how you feel my friend, especially myself being on the BC Pill, you are only 'slim' like two weeks out of the month.

Sometimes ... and only sometimes... dontcha just wish you were a guy!!!

Celery is good and Parsley is apparently a top diuretic, but it takes like caca!

does anyone else get constipation followed by diarrhea around period time. What about gas? And why is this?
 
Eve, yes, I also get constipated right before and have diarrhea right after I first get my period. I'm not sure why this happens, but this has been the case with me whether on or off of the pill (I'm currently off).
 
I would love to know why this happens. It doesn't matter what i eat so i don't think it's a carbohydrate sensitive thing. I avoid all food combinations around my period thinking that it will someday help but it really doesn't matter when and what i eat, my digestive system just gets completely out of wack.
