My baby is sick with a fever. Lets see how much work I can get done working from home. lol Too much freedom at home.

My guess is you will get absolutely nothing done. I work from home often and find myself goofing off on EF more than anything.

Take right now for example.

Yeah I know I doubt I will get a lot done. lol Oh well next week will be hell week at work anyway since my deadline is next Friday.

Happy Friday!! :)

Yep, today is Friday, and since I'm calling the shots, I gave myself 10 extra coffee breaks and I'm leaving the kitchen table early.

lol are you working from home today?

I like working from home. Sometimes, I'm in the mood to work and I work. Other times, I'm not. However, to offset this, I usually also work each night for a few hours. You know, get caught up on emails and the like.

Yeah when in the zone I can get a lot more work done at home without my phone and email blowing up. If I am not in the mood to work then I will get nothing done.

Your boobs make it hard to get in the mood...for work.

If I had boobs like that I wouldn't get any work done at all.

I'd be in front of the mirror all day.

Playing with my boobs.

I used to do that a lot, but I am used to them now. Hubby still likes to grab them all the time. When I say "HEY" he is always like "what?? they are mine I helped pay for them" lol

Did the bully and her end up kissing and making up? That lil bastard made her sick did'nt he?

Poor kid, I hope she or he feels better soon! Nothing worse than a sick child..Well, a sick hubby IS worse to be honest. ;)

I get the same amount of work done at home or at the office( all depending on my mood for that day)

It is my youngest that is sick. The oldest had a talk with her teacher and know issues getting her to school this morning. My youngest is sick with a fever and is sleeping right now. Yes, it is worst when hubby are sick. My kids just lay there quietly watching cartoons and sleeping. The hubby whines a lot and wants this and that. lol

Good to hear that your lil girl feels safer going to school today.

Sleep is good for the fever. Actually, the fever is good too. It's the natural way for his lil body to fight what is going on inside of him. Poor lil guy will be better soon though. When he starts asking for ice-cream the world is all good again.:)

I hear you on the hubby aspect. I'd like to pack hubby up and send him to his mom's when he gets sick. WTF? In what sense do I look like your mom when you become ill and need babied? lol

My youngest is a girl too :) I have two girls no boys in my casa. Yeah she is just in there sleeping with her little wash cloth on her head. I hate to see her like this. She is my wild child and she is never this quiet. Poor little thing doesn't even want to talk much :(

Awww, give her plenty of kisses and fluids. I hope she's better by this afternoon.

I work from home when I'm not traveling. I only go to the office one or two days per month. We try to be a virtual company as much as possible. My partners and I live in 3 differnt states. I love the freedom and flexibility of working from home. I can even get some EF time in. :) Other than conf calls with clients and project teams, I can go to gym in morning like today - leg day - and work at night or when ever. My wife is a nurse so I will work at night when she works nights so we can have more time together since I travel so much. I can also break at 3 to spend time with the kids. Telecommuting and community hoteled office space will be a trend in the future as we move away from driving so much. I recently read a few articles while doing business in Paris about this trend and then MightyMouse posted up about it yesterday. It takes some discipline but many of our knowledge based jobs don't require physical presence to be productive but we still need to have some means of intellectual colocation for efficent team work. Use GoToMeeting or Webex for T120 whiteboarding and shared desktops. Also set up intranets for shared info. Set up terminal services so you can access your "desktop" from anywhere in the world... with a well programmed blackberry you can do a lot of travel and leave the laptop at home. Use Internet cafes and term services. Use IM either internal or public for those quick "over the cub wall" questions.

Yeah I wish I could work from home I hate the drive. My boss is single, workaholic, etc so she wouldn't be so understanding about having people work from home. She wants us there right along with her. lol

W@H for me means, sleep in till 11, jump on the PC and spend 8 hours on EF then spend about 30 minutes working. :p

LOL! Yeah I think I have worked about 2 hrs total. I do a journal entry then check on my child, work some more, internet, internet, internet.. repeat.. lol

Hey Silverstar! I know what you mean. I'm supposed to work from home everyday and it's really hard to get crap done. Somedays, I just let my DK's play while I escape reality (EF) til about lunch then we hit the gym then I hurry home and act productive, lol!

Good luck!

She will be forced to change as the landscape of the office changes.

Hope the little one feels better.

The three most valuable tools for the person who works from home:
1. A schedule. Make it, stick to it.
2. A kitchen timer.
3. A telephone that has caller I.D. and a muted ringer.

Except for sleeping til 11, that's me!

Well actually my alarm goes off at 6am and I hit the snooze till 9 (lol true story), then get up and zap an email to my boss saying. W@H EOM... Then crawl back into bed untill 11. Thank god for e-mail, I hated calling in when I was younger. My job encourages working from home to save on gas. As long as I hit my deadlines and make my meetings I’m golden boy at work.

That's the key on our company. No brownie points for facetime. It's all about productivity. We have to work as teams but there is plenty of technology to make that happen in our virtual environment but we are a tech consulting company.

I wish my work cared about gas. I spend a lot of money on gas.

I don't understand this behavior, why spend the extra 3 hours in bed getting 5 minute naps?

Why not just set the darned alarm later, get solid rest in, and get up when it goes off? You're feeling unrested because the last three or so hours of sleep are fragmented.
