every day it's the same damn thing...wake up, eat, school, eat, lift, eat, then possibly go to the bars, eat, and then sleep. Nothing interesting. Nothing new and exciting, just the same old shit day in and day out. I am about to go crazy.
I'm sorry you feel this way. It's even worse when you're single. This weekend I did absolutely f^ck all. 3 of my friends work in clubs Thursday through Sunday nigt & Ihad some friends away on holiday. I suppose I could've visited my buds at the club but I would've just been standing around while they were working. & I have a musician friend who I'd hang out with quite a bit but he has a girlfriend now, & now that I'm single I hate being the 3rd wheel

Johnnny, well one thing I'm realizing is as you get older it's harder to meet descent ppl especially female. There seems to be more taken females than males around, at least in Montreal
sounds like a good one to me . or u could just sit around and bitch about how bad ur life sux and what for it to change itselfBobber said:What a great fucking idea...did you really come up with it all on your own?

seek a job that you enjoy. Sounds cliche, but I think it works. I'm sure you picked the major b/c you like an aspect of it. For example, if you like policework and working with crime, you could become a psychological profiler. You can also go into sales, teaching, etc...
Hang in there buddy.
Do you find yourself depressed a lot? If you do, you might wanna go get it checked out by a doctor...sorry if I'm assuming something that is not, but if you are in fact finding yourself depressed a lot, a doctor can help.
Sounds like you have some friends, an education and a proffesion. You should be doin good
I wouldn't say I am depressed at all. Psychological profiler...4 more years of school and the supply and demand in that field is not in my favor. Sales... I am 99% sure I am going to go into pharmaceutical sales as soon as I get my degree. I just want something different to happen. As of late it's just been real mundane.
otzie - If I knew what to do to make it go back to being adventure filled don't you think I would have already done it?
Johnnn, Have you had your TSH thyroid done? It can bring you down if your thyroid isn't working properly. I was feeling down in the dumps the last couple of weeks & they found they needed to raise my T4.
Well Pharmaceutical sales will be a good area to get into & I'm sure things will change. What do you think of the computer tech support/networking field? From what I hear jobs are pretty prosperious

Johnny - I think my thyroid is fine. I have no dramatic shifts of weight. As for the computer field...al I know is I can type so that is out of the question. Plus I think it would be way too boring to keep me interested.
Johnnny, well if your TSH thyroid level is fine that's cool you should get it checked twice a year. If computers isn't your strong point than you should stick to your strong points as I like computers.

Its nothing that you can't fix. Go out there and have a blast!
Johnnny, easier said than done. You can't exactly walk up to strangers & ask them to go out partying. Or if all the women you know are spoken for than meeting new ladies is difficult.

my life makes your life seem exciting....
Johnnny, see this is why I said it would be cool if we all lived closer together as we could all hang out

Brotha - Why do you say it is a hard business? The people I know in the field like it a lot and bring home a lot of $$$. Can you elaborate please.

Well, from my experience when they stop by they are usually ignored and find themselves standing in the way of us trying to get things done. Most dont want to talk to them and people are rude to them. They usually just stand there for a long time waiting by the samples that they need to refill until someone will take a second to give them a signature. Then they have to try and give their spiel about the medicine which is usually rebuffed as no one accepts it as unbiased, and you would be lucky to get a good medicine anyhow, if you get a third or fourth line medication then youre job is that much harder and you have to explain and log all interactions. Youre info isnt respected and receptionists really hate most of them. That was somewhat offset by the fact they would buy lunches for them, but now our offices and several other practices have discontinued that b/c of the ethical appearance of accepting things from drug reps, if they arent outright banned completely from the office. So that leaves them just standing there. Im not saying that its not a moneymaking job. I seriously had a thing with one of them, but she was exhausted by it all and it took her well over a year and countless interviews to get that job. She said that there is mass competition for the jobs and thats why they are so demanding of the reps. She was beautiful too and Im sure that played a part in her getting the position, not too mention she was highly intelligent, they seem to hire pretty young attractive women for the positions b/c doctors are mainly men and they talk to them more than they do guys. Guys in the field are a much smaller percentage. I can only speak as to my experience talking to them in the Seattle area so it may be different where you are.
Its a job that I could not do myself, its hard trying to be as happy and upbeat that is demanded after everyone treats you like an annoyance. But some people Im sure it fits quite naturally with their personality and find it a challenge, its all about finding the right mix and attitude. I dont mean to be negative on it, its a very important job, just that it can be difficult in real life. Good luck with it.
Nothing more then usual...Just a general observation.Bobber said:UL - Whats wrong?
Johnny - It isn't really that big a problem for me to go up to strangers and ask them to do stuff. Sometimes it's easier than at other times but right now I would have no problem doing so. I think just possibly I might miss the drama that came along with having a relationship but then again....
Johnnny, well I think it depends on who you meet. Some ppl already have their own click & they don't want to add new ppl to their little group. But for me the friends I've made were either from the gym, school, & work.
Bobber said:Wow, thanks Brotha. I had no inkling that they were viewed more as an anoyance than anything else. I am fairly charismatic and having to wait to see the doctor will not bother me. K for your info.
Well, its not all bad b/c over time you get to know the docs, the problem is that they switch your territories and you also sometimes get a group of them hovering in the hallway and sometimes they get competitive with who gets to get the signature first.
If you are good at building relationships with people then I would assume that it wouldnt be that hard of a job, just initially it can be hard to get known and build the credibility that is required. I just feel bad for them sometimes and thank god that I dont have to do that.
Johnnny, this is very true you have to know the right ppl to get good jobs it's always been that way.
