it sounds good coming from an old man, he makes it sound like an old man talking about his life.

although his voice is pathetic compared to trent reznor's.

yes, he did..........it was/is an extremely moving, powerfull video. his swan song.....he's sitting, quietly but intensely singing the song, looking like death warmed over, pale and puffy and obviously dying. it is interspersed with videos of his life, with the children and his wife, the always beautifull and stylish June Carter Cash, showing shots of what he was and what he had become. you can hear the pain and hurt and regret in his voice, coming to terms with the soon to be end of his life.

many long time married couples cannot survive the loss of their beloved spouse, JC was one fo them. he was just hanging around, waiting for God or the grim reaper or whoever to takem him and reunite him with his wife.

i believe that some dying people are given an extra sense, a 7th sense, that lets them know that their time on this earth is near. JC knew he was soon gonna be a goner-- this video was his way of apologising to his family and fans for some of the mistakes of his life.

kinda sorta reminded me of queen's last video.......freddie mercury was pale and thin, dying of AIDS (although it wasna't made public at the time), singing at a fraction of his past immense voice.

JC's video foikin' blew me away the first time i saw it...i had heard his version of the song and was intrigued by it, but the video sent shivers and goodbumps all over me.




all of these pumped up, pretty boy, carefully couifured, studio voiced "country" singers don't have SHIT on johnny cash.
