ok, i'm at work at GNC tonight not really thinking of buying any insulin until tommorow or monday. so i start talking to my buddy on the phone at the GNC down the road bullshitting...and he say's to me that you can't just go buy insulin, his buddy who is supposed to be so big and so educated on this stuff tried EVERY pharm in SFL and was denied. this came about since i had told him earlier in the day that you could waltz in and buy insulin. i knew he was gonna ask this guy since he is the only one we know who admitted to using the stuff. so i'm like ok fuck this. i'm heading over to the supermarket deli next door anyway to get a roast beef sub, and i tell him i'm picking up some insulin too at the pharm since its 5:30 and they should be open still. lock up the shop and head in, seeing a gathering at the pharm....i was like ok let me get the sub first. i then go back to the pharm dept....totally empty. 
great! so the girl tech and the pharmacist are up top behind the second counter and i'm at the lower counter by the register. the girl asks if she can help me and i tell her i need to know if i can pick up this item (written on a paper saying "humulin R").......she is like "is it a prescription???" so i'm like fuckin-a......and yell out "no its a type of insulin". this bitch is pissing me off at this point...then the pharmacist comes down and asks me to see the paper, and tells me "yes, no problem you can pick that up". 
he then gets the insulin box out the fridge and asks me if i want the sub rung up along with it. lol. i'm like "yes thank you." 
this shit is getting pretty funny now. i thought perhaps he wanted to ask me if i cared to pull up a chair and eat the sub right there too. so i go back to work, and get on the horn and proceed to tell my friend i just bought the shit he said i coudn't buy. then he is like "well so and so is pretty big and was with his friend so maybe that is why they didn't sell it too him". OK!!!!!! i'm no huge mofo, but its obviouis i frequent the weights and i have long hair and a go-tee and look suspicious as the next guy. but this guy who is taking the insulin said two things....one he is using the version i suppose your not allowed to buy openly (got it from his source is what i am told), and that his version you dont get diabetes with. first part i understand, but is there any merit to getting diabetes with humulin R and not whatever insulin he is using? sounded stupid to me. i though abuse of insulin led to diabetes. i don't know, maybe the guy was asking for the wrong insulin and that is why he was denied....or maybe he is full of shit. all i know is that i bought a roast beef sub and some humulin R at the same transaction. :havoc:
