I just want to go on record as apologizing for sending you such large files of my house pics.

Don't shoot me, but if you must, make Dial Tone come over and hurt me real bad.

Real, real bad.

Hey no problem. I have DSL so it didn't take long at all. You and Skip look like brothers! I can't believe you can see the Capitol from your house!!! That's great.

How many square feet are in your house?

Did you do a lot of the work? If you did then you definitely had your work cut out for you!

How long did it take to renovate your house?

Is it two floors or three? You had a picture of your basement and I was wondering if your basement is finished for living in.. Mine also has a basement so it makes my house three floors but my basement is my workshop so we don't can't live in it.

How long have you lived there and would you do the same thing again if given the chance?

Thanks for sending me the pictures. Your house looks great. It's great to see others preserving these older treasures.:)

HM,

I got a return reply from the last batch I sent. It was too big to send out.

I'll see what I can do about loading them up to my profile pics, and link them that way.

What a pain

Yeah, I tried to send a third batch, but it got kicked back because the file was too big.

It's a two story house with a full basement. It needs to be finished out, but there is alot of work to be done down there before I can finish it up.

The house is around 1600 or 1700 sq ft. It was listed as a 4 bedroom, but I tore down a wall between two of the smaller bedrooms, and made one big one.

Also, this place has almost no closet space, so I had to rig up a few makeshift closets to have any storage at all.

Thanks for the comments, I am VERY happy with this house, and I feel very lucky to have bought it when I did, and where I did.

It is awesome to go on the roof and see the DC skyline.

If you are ever able to send that third batch, I would be interested in seeing those.

I know how basements are! We had a leak in ours about ayear ago but didn't catch it for several weeks. It was the kitchen sink drain and you can't imagine the hell we paid cleaning that stuff up. Luckily, it didn't get into to any of my tools down there but it got about everything else.

I'm contemplating now about tearing a wall down in the upstairs bathroom and moving about 3 feet out to make our master bath larger and install a whirlpool tub and add another closet. I have to get a few design friends of mine in there to see if it is feasible and worth it.

I am also going to take a chimney out (already have knocked off the top of it when we reroofed) and straighten out a wall upstairs in one of the bedrooms to make it larger.

We have a lot of closet space for some reason but many of these older houses didn't have much closet space. I think someone installed our closets years before we ever got the house but they did a good job on it.

Thanks for sharing those pictures. Just remember, your work is never done on these older houses. It is a continuous effort that really never ends.

HM, I'll see if I can't send 2 or 3 at a time. They are large files, and I have yet to figure out how to resize them. The Kodak software kinda sucks. You can get very large, or very small, but nothing in between.

I have a lot of plans for this place. It has a ton of potential. And yes, my work around here is never finished. I am trying to find a handyman to come over and install two new exterior doors. No luck on that so far.

I just got them! Man your color scheme looks a lot like mine! The pic of your den looks great! The basement looks good too. Everything in the basement looks shiny and new. I wish my laundry room was in the basement because I know one day I am going to have a leak and things will get ruined. Our laundry room is on the top floor near the bedrooms. It's convienent but one day something will happen.

Those were great pics. Thanks for sharing them with me.

My mailbox got full and kicked out the last two emails you sent. See if you can resend those last two.

The last one I got was of your bedroom, front entryway and front of the house. Awesome colors and the house looks great! Your window casings look just like mine except you have the grooved casings on the side. That is something I have been thinking of doing but I have 35 windows so it wouldn't be easy at all.

LOL, figures. I've gotta go to an appointment, but will resend those last two emails this afternoon.

And thanks! I wanted some strong color in the house, I can stand pale or powdery colors.

u still gonna make the basement into an S & M dungeon?

HM, check your email, I resent the last batch.

rnch, if by S&M dungeon, you mean home gym, I would like to install a full home gym, but that may have to wait until some other things are done.
