Humalog shelf life

Bulk King

New member
I've had a couple bottle of humalog in the fridge for about three years. Thinking I'll just toss it but wonder if it would still be good.

expiration date on mine was for approximately 1 year after my date of purchase, does yours have an expiration date? I'm not sure how much it degrades past this point.

smaller amounts of insulin will be less stable then a larger amount, not sure how much you have.

it may have lost some potency, you could try it out and see, if you had a glucose meter you could measure the efficiency of it. and increase dosage as nescaserry. I don't see how administering it, even if alot of potency has been lost could be harmful, as long as you use common sense and don't jump into insane dosages making assuptions :)

Yeah, my understanding is it will basical turn to water, not some evil poison. Have'nt checked the expiration date but I'm sure it's past. When i get home I'll check them out before the wife gets home. She has a hard enough time dealing with juice, insulin scares the shit out of her.

I've used it a year after the ex date and couldn't tell a difference, 10iu seemed to give me the same effect. Three years? Who knows, like stated earlier, try it and see.

Expiration date is printed on vial. It is good for up to 4 weeks if opened and used (injected a needle into vial). If sealed, it is good until expiration date. After that, it loses potency. Also, it can be out of the refrig at room temperature (86 deg F or less) for 28 days. Higher temps or out of refrig for longer periods causes it to lose potency.
