Hugo Chavez

Hugo Chavez is calling for an end to US domination and is subsequently seen as a hero in Syria (where he was welcomed with open arms on a recent trip). Whats everyones view of the cheeky monkey? Was Pat Robertson's comment about having him killed fair comment? Genuinely interested on an American perspective of this character.

Cheers

:sigh:

I'm Venezuelan orb, been living out of the Country for the last 7 years, shortly after he was elected. I do go every year for Vacations.

The Country is worse^n since he is in power... what is worse that we have never had so much money as in the last 10 years... (check prices for oil, aluminium, steel and gold)

It is a sad, sad, sad affair, specially for us who have family/friends there. Seen as the whole world us together (represented by this Ape... meeting Castro every weekend, gfoing to Syria, he met Saddam and drove in his Mercedes with him).

We havce elections in December. Even though he basically now owns all the powers, there is a chance. It has to end, sadly, history has shown that things either end via a pacific solution or with lots of dead people.

the average educated american thinks of him as a joke, a caricature, a fool.
certain anti-american types living in the states proly think of him as a martyr

He's an idiot being given legitimacy as a leader by everyone paying attention to the nonsense he has to say. Similiar to the moron in Iran.
