hrt with hcg only?

zziggzzigg

Just wondering if dosages and timing were figured out, if hrt could be healthily run using hcg only?

(obviously properly functioning testicles required)

Is it true that the overall hormones produced in the testicles under LH influence would be better than just injecting exogenous testosterone only?

Zig - I am 39 y.o. with a naturally low testosterone (209) level despite 24 years of stimulating it with weight training and proper diet. I started HRT back in June and it made me a new man. I would recommend it highly, should you also have very low natural levels of test. Just talk with a doctor who is up on these things.
As part of the HRT, I take 2 shots of HCG every week. These are 1 cc per day on two consecutive days. Your body can adapt quickly to HCG if you do it to often. (Loses it's effectiveness)
I will even skip a week after two consecutive weeks, just so this doesn't happen.

I feel that HCG is best used as an attempt to recover testicular mass and function. Chronic use of HCG can lead to LH resistance--meaning, in time, your testes will fail to respond to HCG or LH stimulation. I am aware of some people using HCG and Nolvadex as their HRT. In time, they will require exogenous testosterone supplementation. I am also aware of people who ahve been shut down (causes unknown), used HCG/Nolvadex and recovered and did not need to continue HCG/nolvadex. Their HPTA recovered.

What about HRT with Clomid?

Technically, I don't think clomid is a hormone so HRT would be impossible with clomid. Increasing natural test production using clomid is an on going debate around here...

If you begin HRT are you sterile?

No. You still can produce and pro-create otherwise testosterone would be an effective male contraceptive. Ask around and you will hear stories of guys on long cycles, heavy cycles, even on HRT and still getting some one pregnant.

slightly off topic, but that brings up the article I saw in the newspaper about the 'male contraceptive' that is in testing...

it is a two part method where they inject a progestin and implant testosterone to counteract the progestin lowering endogenous testosterone, and is supposedly very effective in preventing fertility

Yes, that is possible, I was on it, 25 mg for 6 months. My test levels became normal in a matter of weeks. Then the doc put a hold on my script, levels dropped again to almost zero.

BTW, it would not be called HRT, but something like "hormone enhancement therapy".

Clomid stimulates release of the hormones LH and FSH. It does nothing for recovery of testicular mass.
