HRT and gyno

Well I finally got to get back to my endo. The doctor i had, sometime in April and the new guy took over and was just now able to get in.

I've been doing 200mg/ e/o week since April and upon recent blood tests my levels were only at 287. I was dissappointed because I was at 420 when on the Androgel. And on top of that, I've had some bad pains in my left breast for the past 2-3 weeks and come to find out i have a mild case of gyno.

The dr. said he wants me to come off the HRT for 2 months to see if my body will sort of "jump start" itself and do it on its own. I'm going to have a MRI done on monday because he thinks the problem could be with my pituatary gland i.e. cyst or tumor, causing my body to not make it's own test.

I'm concerned with the gyno, because i still have pain in it and my nipple seems puffier than normal. He said since it's a recent thing, that coming off the HRT may reverse it, but idk, i'm not a doctor. I was wanting to get some opinions on whether I should look into something like Letro or Nolva. i really don't want to have to get surgery but I will if it comes to that. But If i can spend 50 bucks on Letro and get rid of it, then i will. What are ya'll's thoughts on this?

While on HRT, I take a-dex as prescribed by my Dr. 0.25mg MWF.
Zero gyno symptoms.

While on a 500+ mg pw cycle, I experienced some nipple sensitivity and upped the a-dex to 0.5 MWF. The sensitivty disappeared.

I'd suggest you try it.

What is A-Dex? Is that the Pharmaceutical name? I got gynocomastia in the old days when I cycled heavy and I don't it again.

I agree with what lion says..use the a-dex... (arimidex..generic is anastrozole) and I agree again with the doses that he recommends...however..if I were to accidentally over dose my test by say...oh..500 to 700mg a week (funny how that happens about twice a year) and I get gyno symptoms... I also like to throw in novla at 20mg a day for a couple days... and I look at it like this... the Adex keeps the fire from starting....and the novla helps put out the fire that is already burning...a good one, two punch in my opinion...it has worked well for me for years now.... Lion..any thoughts or opinions?

Have you ever had your estradiol checked to see? Also you should also have a free testosterone and SHBG done to really see how your body is processing the testosterone. Many people focus too much just on the total testosterone and not enough on the other details that can really make an ok HRT program a really great experience. Let's say your estradiol is high and the free testosterone is low. By simply adding a small dosage of the anastrozole like Lion said can increase the free testosterone that your body is using by suppressing the conversion of test to estrogen. Anyone can keep increasing or start at a high dose of testosterone and feel better it is starting at a lower safer dose and tweaking that makes HRT useful and safe.
